Gen Z: Luke 12
So like, a whole squad of peeps gathered, stacked on each other, and Jesus was like, "Yo, watch out for the Pharisees' rizz, it's just sus hypocrisy."
For real, nothing stays undercover; everything hidden is gonna pop off and be known.
Whatever you whispered in the dark is gonna be lit in the light; what you said in secret is gonna be shouted from the rooftops.
And I’m telling you, fam, don’t sweat those who can just take your body; after that, they got nada.
But let me drop some knowledge: fear the One who can toss you into the afterlife; fr, you should fear Him.
Aren’t five sparrows just two coins? And not even one of them slips past God’s notice?
Even the hairs on your head are counted, so chill: you’re way more valuable than a bunch of sparrows.
Also, if you rep me in front of others, I’ll back you up in front of God’s angels, no cap.
But if you ghost me in front of peeps, I’ll have to ghost you in front of God’s angels.
And if anyone talks smack about the Son of Man, it’s all good; but if you disrespect the Holy Spirit, that’s a whole different vibe, and it won’t be forgiven.
When they drag you to the synagogues and courts, don’t even stress about what to say, fam.
The Holy Spirit’s got you covered, teaching you in that moment what to drop.
One dude in the squad was like, "Yo, Master, tell my bro to split the inheritance with me."
And Jesus was like, "Bro, who made me your judge or divider?"
He told them, "Watch out for greed, fam; life ain’t all about flexing what you own."
Then he dropped a story, saying, "A rich dude’s land was vibing hard, producing mad crops."
He was thinking to himself, "What do I do? No space to stash my harvest."
So he was like, "Bet, I’ll tear down my barns and build bigger ones to store all my stuff."
And he said to his soul, "Chill, you’ve got enough stacked for years; just eat, drink, and vibe."
But God was like, "You fool, tonight your soul’s getting taken; then who’s gonna claim all that stuff?"
So it’s like, if you’re stacking up treasure for yourself and not flexing for God, that’s sus.
He told his squad, "Yo, don’t stress about your life, what you’ll munch on, or what drip you’ll wear."
Life’s way more than just food, and your body’s way more than just fits.
Check out the ravens: they don’t plant or harvest, no storage or anything, and God’s got them fed. You’re way more fire than those birds!
Which of you can level up your height just by worrying?
If you can’t even handle the small stuff, why stress about the rest, fr?
Look at the lilies, they don’t grind or spin; yet, I’m telling you, Solomon wasn’t dripped out like one of these.
If God’s styling the grass, which is here today and gone tomorrow, how much more will He hook you up, you little faith squad?
Don’t be trippin’ on what to eat or drink, and don’t be having those doubtful vibes.
All these things are what the world’s chasing after, and your Father knows you need them, periodt.
But fr, go after the kingdom of God, and everything else will just come through.
No cap, don’t stress, fam; your Dad’s got your back and wants to hook you up with the kingdom.
Sell your stuff and help others out; stack up treasures in the sky that won’t fade, where no thief can slide in or moth messes it up.
Where your treasure’s at, that’s where your heart’s gonna vibe too.
Keep your game tight and your lights lit, fam;
And be like those peeps waiting for their boss, ready to open the door when he shows up from the party.
Blessed are those servants who are on it when the boss arrives: I’m telling you, he’ll suit up and serve them a feast.
And if he rolls in during the late or super late shift, those servants are blessed for being ready.
Just know, if the homeowner had a clue when the thief was coming, he would’ve stayed woke and kept his place safe.
So, be ready too: the Son of Man is coming at a time you least expect, periodt.
Then Peter was like, "Yo Lord, are you dropping this story on us, or is it for everyone?"
And the Lord was like, "So who's the real MVP, the faithful and wise steward, who I’ll make in charge of the whole squad, serving them their food on time?"
Blessed is that servant who’s grinding when his boss shows up.
For real, I’m telling you, he’s gonna be made ruler over everything he owns.
But if that servant thinks in his heart, "My boss is taking forever to show up," and starts being wild with the crew, eating and drinking, and getting lit;
The boss of that servant is gonna roll up on a day he’s not ready for, at an hour he’s not expecting, and will totally catch him off guard, giving him a spot with the non-believers.
And that servant who knew what his boss wanted but didn’t get ready, or do his job, is gonna get hit with a lot of consequences.
But the one who didn’t know and still messed up is gonna get less punishment. For real, to whom much is given, much is expected; and if you’re trusted with a lot, they’ll demand even more from you.
I came to set this place on fire; and what’s up if it’s already lit?
But I’ve got a baptism to go through; and I’m feeling the pressure until it’s done!
You think I’m here to bring peace? Nah fam, it’s more like a vibe check with some division.
From now on, it’s gonna be five peeps in one house, and they’re gonna be split, like three vs two and two vs three.
Dads gonna be at odds with sons, and sons with dads; moms against daughters, and daughters against moms; mother-in-laws vs daughter-in-laws, and vice versa.
He told the crowd, "When you see a cloud pop up from the west, you’re like, ‘Rain’s coming!’ and you’re not wrong."
And when the south wind blows, you’re all like, ‘It’s gonna be hot,’ and it totally is.
Yo, you hypocrites can read the sky and the earth, but how come you can’t get what’s happening right now?
Seriously, why can’t you even judge what’s right for yourselves?
When you’re rolling with your enemy to court, make sure you’re on your game so you don’t get thrown in jail by the judge.
I’m telling you, you won’t bounce until you pay the last cent.
