James 2

Gen Z: James 2

1Yo fam, don’t flex that faith in our dude Jesus, the ultimate vibe, while judging people based on their drip.

2So if a dude rolls up in your crew with a gold ring and fresh fits, but then a broke guy in raggedy clothes shows up too;

3And you’re all like, “Yo, come sit in the VIP section,” to the one in the fly gear, while telling the poor dude to chill by my feet:

4Aren’t you just being sus and acting like judges with shady thoughts?

5Listen up, my beloved peeps, hasn’t God picked the broke folks to be rich in faith and heirs to the kingdom he promised to those who vibe with him?

6But you’re out here looking down on the poor. Don’t rich dudes boss you around and drag you to court?

7Don’t they trash talk that dope name by which you’re called?

8If you’re living out that royal law from the scriptures, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” you’re doing it right:

9But if you’re judging people based on status, you’re straight-up sinning, and you know the law calls you out for that.

10'Cause if you keep the whole law but mess up once, you’re guilty of it all, no cap.

11So like, the one who said, "Don’t cheat," also said, "Don’t kill." If you don’t cheat but go and kill, you’re still breaking the rules, no cap.

12So just vibing and doing your thing, like you know you're gonna be judged by the freedom law.

13If you show no mercy, you’re gonna be judged with no mercy; but mercy is like, "I got your back," against judgment.

14What’s the point, fam? If someone says they got faith but no works, can that faith really save them?

15If a bro or sis is out here naked and starving, that’s sus.

16And if you’re like, "Peace out, stay warm and eat," but don’t actually help them, what’s the point?

17For real, faith without works is just dead vibes, like, totally alone.

18Yeah, someone might say, "I got faith," and another’s like, "I got works." Show me your faith without your works, and I’ll show you mine through my works, fr.

19You believe there’s one God? Bet, that’s cool. Even the demons believe and are shook.

20But do you really get it, my dude? Faith without works is just dead, periodt.

21Wasn't Abraham our dad justified by his grind when he offered up Isaac on the altar?

22You see how faith was vibin' with his actions, and through those actions, faith leveled up?

23The scripture popped off, saying Abraham believed God, and that got him the righteous badge—he was called God's homie.

24So you see, a dude gets justified by his works, not just by faith alone, no cap.

25And like, wasn't Rahab the hustler also justified by her grind when she helped the messengers and sent them on a different path?

26Just like a body without the spirit is totally dead, faith without the works is also a no-go.

KJV: James 2

1My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.

2For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;

3And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:

4Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?

5Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?

6But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?

7Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?

8If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:

9But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.

10For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

11For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.

12So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

13For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.

14What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

15If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,

16And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?

17Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

18Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

19Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

20But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

21Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?

22Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?

23And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.

24Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

25Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?

26For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
