Gen Z: Isaiah 27
On that day, the Lord’s coming in hot with a savage sword to take down Leviathan, that sneaky serpent; he’s gonna slay the dragon chillin’ in the sea.
On that day, vibe check and sing to her, “A vineyard of red wine, let’s go!”
I, the Lord, got this on lock; I’m watering it 24/7, no cap: I’ll protect it day and night.
Ain’t no fury in me: who’s bold enough to throw thorns at me? I’d just pop off and burn them all.
Or let him grab my strength, so he can make peace with me; and he will for sure make peace with me.
He’s gonna help Jacob’s crew take root: Israel’s about to blossom and fill the world with mad fruit.
Did he hit him like he hit those who hit him? Or is he down like those who fell by his hand?
When it shoots out, you’ll wanna debate it: he calms the rough winds when the east wind blows.
This is how Jacob’s wrongs get cleared; it’s all about taking away the sin when he turns the altar stones into chalk, and the groves and idols won’t stand.
But the defended city’s gonna be empty, left like a ghost town: the calf will chill there, laying down and munching on the branches.
When the branches dry up, they’ll just break off: the ladies come and set them on fire; it’s a crew with no understanding, so the creator won’t show them mercy or favor.
And on that day, the Lord’s gonna clear out from the river channel to the stream of Egypt, and you’ll be gathered one by one, O children of Israel.
And on that day, the big trumpet’s gonna blast, and those ready to dip from Assyria and the outcasts in Egypt will come worship the Lord on the holy mount in Jerusalem.
