Gen Z: Isaiah 26
On that day, this banger will be sung in Judah; we got a solid city; God’s got salvation on lock for walls and defenses.
Open the gates, so the righteous squad that keeps it real can roll in.
You’ll keep that one in perfect peace, whose mind is vibin’ on you: ‘cause they trust you, no cap.
Trust in the Lord forever: ‘cause in the Lord Jehovah is that everlasting strength, fr.
He’s bringing down the high-key people; the boujee city gets laid low; straight to the ground, he’s dusting it.
The foot’s gonna stomp it down, even the kicks of the poor, and the steps of the needy.
The path of the just is all about that straight vibe: you, most upright, weigh the just path.
Yeah, in your judgments, O Lord, we’ve been waiting for you; our soul’s craving your name and the memory of you.
With my soul, I’ve been wanting you at night; yeah, with my spirit, I’ll seek you early: ‘cause when your judgments hit the earth, the world will catch on to righteousness.
Show some favor to the wicked, but they still won’t catch the vibe of righteousness: in the land of the real ones, they’ll still act sus and won’t see the Lord’s majesty.
Lord, when your hand is up, they won’t see: but they’ll see and feel shame for their envy at the squad; yeah, the fire of your enemies will consume them.
Lord, you’re setting peace for us: ‘cause you’ve been doing all our works in us.
O Lord our God, other lords have had their time over us: but we’ll only mention your name, periodt.
They’re dead, they won’t live; they’re gone, they won’t rise: you’ve visited and wiped them out, making all their memory vanish.
You’ve boosted the nation, O Lord, you’ve boosted the nation: you’re getting all the glory; you’ve spread it far to the ends of the earth.
Lord, in trouble, they’ve hit you up, pouring out a prayer when your discipline was on them.
Like a woman about to pop, feeling that delivery pain, she’s crying out; that’s how we’ve been in your sight, O Lord.
We’ve been pregnant with pain, we’ve been hurting, it’s like we’ve brought forth wind; we haven’t brought any deliverance in the earth; the world’s inhabitants haven’t fallen.
Your dead will live, my dead body will rise with them. Wake up and sing, you who chill in the dust: your dew is like the dew of herbs, and the earth will throw out the dead.
Come, my people, slide into your chambers and shut your doors: hide for a sec until the drama passes.
For, check it, the Lord’s coming out of his spot to punish the earth’s inhabitants for their wrongdoings: the earth will spill her blood and won’t cover her slain anymore.
