Gen Z: 2 Chronicles 31
So when everything was done, all the peeps in Israel bounced to Judah, smashed the idols, took down the groves, and wrecked the high places and altars in Judah and Benjamin, also in Ephraim and Manasseh, until they were totally gone. Then all the kids of Israel went back to their own spots, straight to their cities.
Hezekiah set up the priests and Levites, giving each their roles, with the priests and Levites handling burnt offerings and peace offerings, to vibe and give thanks, and to praise at the gates of the Lord's tents.
He also gave the king's share for the burnt offerings, you know, for morning and evening sacrifices, and for the sabbaths, new moons, and set feasts, just like it says in the Lord's law.
Plus, he told the people in Jerusalem to hook up the priests and Levites, so they could feel encouraged in the Lord's law.
As soon as the word got out, the kids of Israel brought in mad firstfruits of corn, wine, oil, honey, and all the harvest; they brought in the tithe of everything like it was no cap.
And the folks from Israel and Judah living in the cities of Judah also brought in the tithe of oxen and sheep, and the holy stuff set apart for the Lord, stacking it up in heaps.
In the third month, they started laying down the foundation for the heaps, and wrapped it up in the seventh month.
When Hezekiah and the princes rolled up and saw the heaps, they blessed the Lord and his squad, Israel.
Then Hezekiah hit up the priests and Levites about the heaps.
Azariah, the chief priest of the Zadok fam, answered him, saying, "Since the people started bringing offerings to the Lord's house, we've had enough to eat and even leftover; the Lord has blessed his people, and what’s left is a whole lot."
Then Hezekiah told them to prep some chambers in the Lord's house, and they got that done.
They brought in the offerings, tithes, and dedicated stuff like champs: Cononiah the Levite was in charge, and his bro Shimei was right there with him.
Jehiel, Azaziah, Nahath, Asahel, Jerimoth, Jozabad, Eliel, Ismachiah, Mahath, and Benaiah were the overseers under Cononiah and Shimei, all on Hezekiah's orders, and Azariah was the boss of the house of God.
Kore, son of Imnah the Levite, was the east-side porter, handling the freewill offerings for God, distributing the Lord's gifts and the holy stuff.
Next to him were Eden, Miniamin, Jeshua, Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah, in the priests' cities, doing their thing to give to their crew by courses, from the big dogs to the little ones:
Besides their male genealogy, from three years old and up, everyone entering the Lord's house got their daily portion for their service according to their roles;
Both for the priests' genealogy by their fams, and the Levites from twenty years and up, doing their thing by their courses;
And for all their little ones, wives, sons, and daughters, through the whole congregation: they set themselves apart in holiness for their roles;
Also, from the sons of Aaron the priests, who were in the fields by their city limits, every city had the men named to give portions to all the males among the priests and those counted in the Levites' genealogies.
And Hezekiah did this all over Judah, doing what was good, right, and true before the Lord his God.
And in every project he started in the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he went all in with his heart, and things popped off.
