Gen Z: 1 Kings 8
So Solomon gathered all the OGs of Israel, the tribe heads, and the fam to bring the ark of the covenant to king Solomon in Jerusalem, straight outta the city of David, aka Zion.
All the dudes from Israel showed up to king Solomon's feast in Ethanim month, which is like the seventh month, no cap.
The elders of Israel rolled in, and the priests grabbed the ark, fr.
They brought the ark of the Lord, the tabernacle, and all the holy gear from the tabernacle, like the priests and Levites were totally on it.
King Solomon and the whole squad of Israel vibed before the ark, sacrificing mad sheep and oxen, like there were way too many to count, periodt.
The priests brought the ark of the covenant to its spot in the house, into the oracle, the most holy place, under the wings of the cherubims.
The cherubims flexed their two wings over the ark, covering it and the staves above, total rizz.
They pulled out the staves, and you could see the ends in the holy place before the oracle, but not outside, and they're still there today, no cap.
The ark had only the two stone tablets that Moses dropped at Horeb when the Lord made a deal with the Israelites after they bounced from Egypt.
When the priests dipped out of the holy place, a cloud filled the Lord's house, and it was lit.
The priests couldn't even vibe to do their thing 'cause the cloud was so thick; the glory of the Lord was totally filling the house, no cap.
Solomon was like, "God said He’s chillin' in the thick darkness, fr."
"I built you a dope house to hang in, a forever spot for you to chill," he said.
Then the king turned and blessed all the squad of Israel: (and everyone stood up, periodt.)
He said, "Big ups to the Lord God of Israel, who spoke to my dad David and made it happen with His hands, no cap."
"Since the day I brought my peeps Israel outta Egypt, I didn’t pick a city from all the tribes to build a house for my name; I chose David to lead my people."
"David, my father, had it in his heart to build a house for the name of the Lord God of Israel."
"And the Lord told David, 'It’s cool that you wanted to build a house for my name; that was a good vibe.'"
"But you ain't gonna build it; your son coming from you will build the house for my name."
"The Lord came through on His word, and I’m here taking David's spot, sitting on Israel's throne, just like the Lord promised, and I built a house for the name of the Lord God of Israel."
I set a spot for the ark, where the Lord's covenant is, the one He made with our fam when He dipped them outta Egypt.
Solomon stood in front of the Lord's altar with all the squad of Israel, arms up to the sky like, "What's good?"
He said, "Yo, Lord God of Israel, there’s no one like you, up in the clouds or down here, keeping it real with your crew who vibe with you, no cap."
You kept it 100 with your boy David, my dad, just like you promised. You spoke it, and now you made it happen, periodt.
So now, Lord God of Israel, keep it real with your boy David like you said, so there’s always someone from his line on the throne of Israel; let the kids stay on the right path like he did.
And now, God of Israel, let your word pop off like you told your boy David, my dad.
But for real, will God chill on earth? Like, the heavens can’t even hold you, so how’s this house I built gonna do it?
Still, show love to the prayer of your servant and listen to his plea, Lord my God, hear the cries and prayers he’s throwing up to you today.
Keep your eyes open on this house day and night, the place you said your name would be; so you can hear the prayers your servant sends up from here.
And listen to the pleas of your servant and your people Israel when they pray toward this spot: hear from heaven, your crib, and when you do, forgive.
If anyone beefs with their neighbor and has to swear an oath at your altar, that's the vibe.
Then hear from heaven, do your thing, and judge your peeps, calling out the haters and backing up the good ones, periodt.
When your squad Israel gets wrecked by the enemies 'cause they messed up, and they come back to you, confessing and praying in this spot:
Then hear from heaven, forgive Israel's sins, and bring them back to the land you gave their fam.
When heaven's dry and no rain's falling 'cause they've tripped up, if they pray towards this place and confess your name while you’re putting them through it:
Then hear from heaven, forgive your servants and Israel, teach them the right path to walk, and send rain on the land you gave your people, no cap.
If there’s famine, pestilence, or locusts in the land, or if their enemies are around their cities; whatever plague or sickness hits:
Any prayer or plea made by anyone, or all your people Israel, who knows their own heart's struggle and reaches out to this house:
Then hear from heaven, your home base, forgive, do your thing, and give everyone what they deserve, 'cause you know what's in their hearts, no cap.
So they can vibe with you all their days in the land you gave our ancestors.
Yo, if a stranger rolls up from far away just to vibe with your name, that's legit.
They’ll hear about your lit name and strong moves, then they’ll come pray at this spot.
Listen up from heaven, and do what the stranger asks, so everyone knows your name and respects you like your peeps do. This house I built? It's all about your name.
If your squad heads out to fight their haters wherever you send them, and they pray to you towards the city you picked, and the house I built for your name:
For real, hear their prayers and their requests, and keep it 100 for them.
If they mess up (no cap, everyone slips up), and you get mad and hand them over to their enemies, making them captives far or near;
But if they come to their senses in the land where they got taken, and they vibe with you, saying, "We messed up and did wrong,"
And return to you with all their heart and soul, in the land of their enemies, praying towards their land, the city you chose, and the house I built for your name:
Then, for sure, hear their prayers and requests from heaven, and keep it real for them,
And forgive your people for their mess-ups, and all the wrongs they’ve done, and show them some love in front of those who took them captive, so they can show them love back.
They’re your squad, and your fam, that you pulled outta Egypt, straight from the iron furnace vibes.
So your eyes can be lit to hear the prayers of your servant and your crew, Israel, and listen to all their calls, fr.
You set them apart from all the peeps on the earth to be your fam, just like you told Moses, when you brought our ancestors outta Egypt, O Lord God.
And when Solomon wrapped up his prayer to the Lord, he got up from the altar, having knelt with his hands up to the sky.
He stood up and blessed all the Israel fam with a loud voice, saying,
Big ups to the Lord, who gave rest to his people Israel, just like he promised: not a single word of his good promise flopped, which he gave through Moses.
May the Lord our God be with us, like he was with our ancestors: don’t dip on us or ghost us,
So he can vibe our hearts toward him, to walk in all his ways, and keep his commandments, statutes, and judgments he gave our fam.
And let my words, with which I prayed to the Lord, be close to the Lord our God day and night, that he keeps it real for his servant and his people Israel at all times, as needed.
So all the peeps on the earth can know that the Lord is God, and there’s no one else, no cap.
Keep your heart 100 with the Lord, fam. Walk in His rules and vibe with His commandments, just like today.
The king and all of Israel pulled up and offered sacrifices to the Lord, no cap.
Solomon was out here with peace offerings, flexing 22,000 oxen and 120,000 sheep for the Lord. The king and all the Israelites dedicated the house of the Lord, fr.
That same day, the king made the middle of the court holy for the house of the Lord, offering burnt and meat offerings, 'cause the altar was too small for all the good stuff.
Solomon threw a lit feast, and all Israel rolled with him, a huge crew, from Hamath to the river of Egypt, for seven days, then another seven days.
On the eighth day, he sent everyone home, and they blessed the king, rolling back to their tents, happy and vibing over all the good things the Lord did for David and Israel.
