Gen Z: Zechariah 7
So, in the fourth year of king Darius, God hit up Zechariah on the fourth day of the ninth month, Chisleu vibes.
They sent Sherezer and Regem-melech to the house of God with the squad to pray to the Lord, no cap.
They asked the priests in the Lord's house and the prophets, "Should I be crying in the fifth month like I’ve been doing for years?"
Then the Lord of hosts hit me up with a message, saying,
"Tell all the people and the priests, when you fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh months for seventy years, was it really for me?"
And when you ate and drank, were you not just doing it for yourselves, fr?
Shouldn't you listen to the words the Lord shouted through the old prophets when Jerusalem was thriving and the cities around her were lit?
Then the word of the Lord came to Zechariah, saying,
"The Lord of hosts says, keep it real with true judgment, show mercy and compassion to your bros."
"Don’t oppress the widow, the fatherless, the stranger, or the poor; and don’t let any of you think evil against your brother in your heart, periodt."
But they were like, "Nah," and ignored the message, shutting their ears to not hear.
They made their hearts hard like stone, so they wouldn’t hear the law and the words the Lord sent through the old prophets; that’s why a major wrath came from the Lord of hosts.
So now, since they ignored my cries, when they cried out, I wouldn’t hear them either, says the Lord of hosts.
I scattered them like a whirlwind among nations they didn’t even know. The land became ghost town after them, no one passing through or coming back: they turned the good land into a wasteland.
