Gen Z: Psalms 49
Yo, listen up, everyone; all you peeps in the world, pay attention:
Whether you're lowkey or highkey, rich or broke, we’re all in this together.
I'm about to drop some wisdom; my heart's vibin' on understanding.
I'm tuning in to a parable: gonna spill some deep thoughts on the harp.
Why should I stress when times get rough, when my bad vibes are all around me?
Those who flex their cash and brag about their stacks;
None of them can save their homies or drop a bag to God for them:
(Cuz saving souls is mad valuable, and it’s not happening forever:)
So they can live forever and dodge decay.
For they see that wise folks kick the bucket, just like the fools and the wild ones, leaving their cash to others.
They think their cribs will last forever, naming their lands after themselves, no cap.
But humans in honor don’t last: they’re like the beasts that fade away.
This is their vibe, and it’s kinda sus: yet their fam still backs their words. Selah.
They’re like sheep chilling in the grave; death’s got a feast on them; and the righteous will rule over them in the morning; their glow will fade in the grave.
But God’s gonna save my soul from the grave’s grip: He’s got my back. Selah.
Don’t sweat it when someone gets rich, when their crib is looking fire;
Cuz when they die, they can’t take anything with them: their glory won’t follow.
Even if they blessed themselves while alive, people will hype you up when you’re good to yourself.
They’ll join their ancestors; they’ll never see the light.
A dude in honor who doesn’t get it is just like the beasts that fade away.
