Job 40

Gen Z: Job 40

1Yo, the Lord hit up Job and was like,

2Who’s tryna school the Almighty? If you got beef with God, then spill the tea.

3Then Job was like, "Aight, Lord, listen up,"

4I’m feeling super lowkey; what’s my comeback? I’m just gonna keep it zipped.

5I’ve spoken once, but I’m not gonna say more; for real, I’m done.

6Then the Lord dropped knowledge on Job from the storm, saying,

7Strap up like a boss: I got questions for you, so let’s hear it.

8You tryna flip my judgment? You think you’re right and I’m sus?

9Can you flex like God? Can you throw down thunder with your voice?

10Deck yourself out in majesty and lit vibes; show off your glory and style.

11Let loose that rage and check all the proud ones; bring ‘em down a notch.

12Look at the prideful and humble them; stomp out the wicked where they stand.

13Bury them in the dust and keep their faces on the low.

14Then I’ll admit that your own right hand can pull you through.

15Check out behemoth, the one I made with you; he munches on grass like a cow.

16For real, his strength is in his core, and his power’s in his belly.

17He sways his tail like a cedar; his sinews are all wrapped up.

18His bones are tough like brass; they’re solid like iron bars.

19He’s the GOAT of God’s creation; the one who made him can get him to flex.

20The mountains drop him food, where all the wild animals vibe.

21He chills under the shady trees, in the reeds and marshes.

22The trees throw shade on him; the willows by the brook got his back.

23Look, he drinks up rivers and doesn’t rush; he thinks he can gulp down Jordan.

24He’s got his eyes on it; his nose sniffs out traps.

KJV: Job 40

1Moreover the Lord answered Job, and said,

2Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.

3Then Job answered the Lord, and said,

4Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.

5Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.

6Then answered the Lord unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

7Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

8Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?

9Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?

10Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.

11Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.

12Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.

13Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.

14Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.

15Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.

16Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.

17He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.

18His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.

19He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.

20Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.

21He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.

22The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.

23Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.

24He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.
