Gen Z: Jeremiah 42
All the squad leaders, Johanan son of Kareah, Jezaniah son of Hoshaiah, and peeps from the smallest to the biggest, rolled up.
They hit up Jeremiah the prophet, like, "Yo, please let our plea get through, and pray to your God for us, ‘cause we’re just a few left."
They want God to show them the path to walk and what moves to make, fr.
Jeremiah was like, "I got you; I’ll pray to your God as you asked, and whatever He tells me, I’ll spill the tea to you, no cap."
They told Jeremiah, "May the Lord keep it real between us; if we don’t do what He tells you, that would be sus."
"Whether it’s a vibe or a flop, we’ll listen to our God’s voice so it goes well for us, periodt."
After ten days, the word from the Lord dropped on Jeremiah.
He called Johanan son of Kareah and all the squad leaders, plus everyone else, from the least to the greatest.
He said, "The Lord, the God of Israel, who you sent me to, has a message for you."
"If you chill in this land, I’ll build you up, not tear you down; I’ll plant you, not uproot you, ‘cause I’m over the bad stuff I did to you."
"Don’t sweat the king of Babylon; I got your back to save you and keep you safe from him."
"I’ll show you mercy so he can show you mercy and help you get back to your home turf."
"But if you say, ‘Nah, we ain’t staying here,’ and ignore God’s voice,"
"Saying, ‘No way; we’re heading to Egypt to dodge the drama, war, and hunger,’ that’s where you’ll stay."
"So listen up, remnant of Judah; the Lord of armies, the God of Israel says: If you’re set on Egypt, and go to chill there,"
"You’ll find the sword you’re scared of chasing you down in Egypt, and the famine you fear will follow you there; that’s where you’ll kick the bucket."
"All the guys who want to go to Egypt to chill will die by the sword, famine, and pestilence; no one will escape the drama I’m bringing."
"The Lord of armies, the God of Israel says: Just like my anger was lit against Jerusalem, it’ll be lit against you when you hit Egypt; you’ll be a joke, a shock, a curse, and you won’t see this place again."
"The Lord says to you, remnant of Judah: Don’t go to Egypt; I’m warning you today, no cap."
"You were acting shady when you asked me to pray for you, saying, ‘Whatever God says, we’ll do it.’"
"And now I’ve told you, but you haven’t listened to your God’s voice or anything He told me to say."
"So know this for sure: you’ll die by the sword, famine, and pestilence where you want to go chill."
