Gen Z: Isaiah 47
Yo, come down and chill in the dirt, virgin daughter of Babylon, no throne for you, Chaldean girl: you ain't gonna be called soft and sweet anymore.
Grab those millstones and grind that grain: show off your locks, bare those legs, and cross those rivers.
Your shame's about to be exposed, no cap: I’m coming for revenge, and I ain't meeting you like a regular dude.
Our redeemer? That's the Lord of hosts, the Holy One of Israel, fam.
Sit there quietly and dive into the darkness, Chaldean girl: you ain't gonna be called the queen of kingdoms anymore.
I was mad at my peeps, messed up my inheritance, and handed them over to you: you showed them no mercy; you laid a heavy burden on the old school.
You thought you’d be a queen forever, but you didn’t even think about the end game.
So listen up, you who loves the good life, living carefree, saying in your heart, "I’m the one, no one else matters"; you won’t know what it’s like to be a widow or lose kids.
But these two things are coming for you real quick, like loss of kids and widow vibes: they’ll hit you hard because of your many sorceries and all those wild enchantments.
You were banking on your wickedness, thinking no one sees you. Your wisdom got twisted, and you’re like, "I’m the one, no one else."
So evil’s gonna hit you; you won’t even know where it came from: trouble's gonna fall on you, and you won’t shake it off; desolation's coming suddenly, and you won’t even see it coming.
Try standing strong with your enchantments and all those spells you’ve been working on since you were young; maybe they’ll actually help you out.
You’re tired from all your advice, so let the astrologers, stargazers, and monthly predictors step up and save you from what’s coming.
Look, they’ll be like dry grass; the fire will burn them up; they can’t save themselves from the flames: no coals to warm up with, no fire to chill in front of.
That’s how it’s gonna be with your crew, your merchants from back in the day: they’ll scatter to their own places; no one’s gonna save you.
