Gen Z: Hosea 2
Tell your bros, Ammi; and your sis, Ru–hamah.
Hit up your mom, like, for real: she ain't my wifey, and I ain't her hubby: she gotta ditch her sus ways and stop the drama.
Or I’m gonna leave her bare, like day one, make her a desert, and she’ll be thirsty for real.
I ain't showing love to her kids; they’re just the result of her wild choices.
She’s been acting like a total player: she thought she could chase after her side pieces for food and vibes.
So, check it, I’m putting up thorns and a wall, she won’t even find her way.
She’ll chase after her lovers, but they’ll ghost her; then she’ll realize, “I wanna go back to my first love,” 'cause it was better back then, no cap.
She didn’t even know I was the one giving her all the good stuff, like food and drinks, while she was serving it up for Baal.
So I’m gonna take back my blessings at the right time, and recover what I gave her to cover her up.
And now I’m exposing her wild side in front of her lovers, and no one’s gonna save her from me.
I’m gonna kill the vibe, stop her parties, her chill days, and all her celebrations, periodt.
I’m taking down her vines and fig trees that she thought were her rewards from her lovers; I’ll turn them into a forest, and the animals will munch on them.
I’ll remind her of her days with Baal, when she was all decked out and forgot about me, says the Lord.
So, I’m gonna pull her in, take her to the wild, and give her some comforting words.
I’ll bless her with vineyards and give her hope in the valley of Achor; she’ll vibe there like in her youth, like when she left Egypt.
And on that day, says the Lord, you’ll call me Ishi; no more Baali.
I’ll erase the names of Baal from her mouth, and they won’t be remembered anymore.
And on that day, I’ll make a covenant with the wild beasts, the birds, and the ground creatures; I’ll chill the battles and let them lie down safely.
I’m locking it down with you forever; yeah, I’ll tie the knot in righteousness, judgment, love, and mercy.
I’ll keep it real with you in faithfulness: and you’ll know the Lord.
And on that day, I’ll listen, says the Lord, I’ll hear the heavens, and they’ll hear the earth;
And the earth will vibe with the corn, the wine, and the oil; and they’ll hear Jezreel.
I’ll plant her in the earth; I’ll show mercy to those who didn’t have it; and I’ll say to those who weren’t my people, “You’re my people;” and they’ll say, “You’re my God.”
