Gen Z: Ezra 6
So King Darius drops a decree, and they start searching the stash house in Babylon, where all the treasure's at.
They find a scroll at Achmetha in the palace of the Medes, and it's got some serious records written inside, fr.
In the first year of King Cyrus, he made a decree about the house of God in Jerusalem, saying, “Build it up, where we throw down sacrifices, and make the foundations solid; it's gotta be 60 cubits high and wide, no cap.”
Use three layers of big stones and a layer of fresh timber, and the king's gotta cover the costs, periodt.
Also, bring back the gold and silver stuff from God's house that Nebuchadnezzar took to Babylon; put it back in the temple in Jerusalem, each item in its spot, vibes only.
So, Tatnai, governor over the river, Shethar–boznai, and your crew, stay away from this situation, no cap.
Let the work on God's house be, let the Jewish governor and the elders build it up in their zone.
Plus, I’m making a decree on what to do for the Jewish elders building God's house: use the king's goods from taxes beyond the river to cover their expenses, so they ain't held back.
Whatever they need, like young bulls, rams, and lambs for burnt offerings to the God of heaven, plus wheat, salt, wine, and oil, give it to them daily, no fail.
So they can offer sweet sacrifices to the God of heaven and pray for the king and his fam, that's the vibe.
If anyone changes this word, pull down timber from their house and hang them on it; make their house a trash heap, savage.
And the God who made His name chill here, destroy any kings or people who try to mess with or destroy this house of God in Jerusalem. I, Darius, made this decree; get it done fast.
Then Tatnai, governor on this side of the river, Shethar–boznai, and their crew did what Darius sent them to do, and they did it quick.
The Jewish elders built up the house and thrived thanks to the prophecies from Haggai and Zechariah. They completed it based on God’s command and Cyrus, Darius, and Artaxerxes' orders, no cap.
This house was finished on the third day of Adar in Darius's sixth year of reign, lit.
The Israelites, priests, Levites, and the rest of the crew from captivity dedicated God's house with mad joy.
They offered at the dedication 100 bulls, 200 rams, and 400 lambs; plus for sin offerings, 12 he-goats for all Israel, matching the tribes, periodt.
They set the priests in their squads and the Levites in their roles for serving God in Jerusalem, just like Moses wrote.
The captives kept the Passover on the 14th day of the first month, vibes.
The priests and Levites were all purified, and they killed the Passover for everyone in captivity, including their fellow priests and themselves.
And the Israelites who came back from captivity, plus anyone who separated from the nasty vibes of the land's heathens to seek the Lord God of Israel, ate together.
They celebrated the feast of unleavened bread for seven days with joy, 'cause the Lord made them hype and turned the king of Assyria's heart toward them to boost their hands in the work for God's house, the God of Israel.
