Gen Z: 2 Samuel 22
David hit up the Lord with this lit song after he got saved from all his haters, including Saul.
He said, "The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my go-to for rescue."
The God of my rock; I trust Him for real: He’s my shield, my salvation vibe, my high tower, and my safe space; He saves me from the drama.
I’m gonna call on the Lord, who's totally worth the praise: I’ll be saved from my enemies, no cap.
When the waves of death were closing in, the floods of sus people had me shook.
The feels of hell surrounded me; the traps of death had me on edge.
In my struggle, I called out to the Lord and cried to my God: He heard my voice from His spot, and my cry hit His ears.
Then the earth was like, "Whoa!" and shook; the foundations of heaven were vibing hard because He was mad.
Smoke puffed outta His nostrils, and fire from His mouth was devouring stuff: coals were lit by it.
He pulled the heavens down low and came through; darkness was under His feet, fr.
He pulled up on a cherub, flexin' in the sky like a boss, riding the wind vibes.
He threw up some dark vibes around him, like heavy clouds and deep waters, no cap.
The brightness before him was lit, like coals of fire igniting.
The Lord was thundering from heaven, spitting bars with the most High's voice.
He shot out arrows, scattering vibes; lightning hit different, and they were shook.
The sea's channels showed up, like the world's foundation was revealed when the Lord popped off, just breathing heavy.
He swooped down from above, pulled me up; he rescued me from the deep waters, fr.
He saved me from my savage enemy and the haters: they were too strong, no cap.
They jumped me on my worst day: but the Lord had my back, periodt.
He brought me to a chill spot, rescued me, 'cause he was vibing with me.
The Lord blessed me for keeping it 100: my hands were clean, so He hooked me up.
I stayed on the Lord's grind and didn’t dip out on my God, no cap.
All His rules were in my face, and I didn’t bounce from them, periodt.
I kept it real with Him and stayed away from my mess.
So, the Lord rewarded me for being righteous; my vibe was pure in His sight.
If you’re merciful, He’s gonna show you mercy; if you’re real, He’s all about that realness too.
If you’re pure, He’ll keep it pure with you; if you’re shady, He’s not about that life.
He’s gonna save the ones in need, but He’s got His eye on the cocky to bring them down a notch.
You’re my light, Lord; you’re gonna shine in my dark times, fr.
With you, I’ve taken down a whole squad; with my God, I’ve jumped over walls like it’s nothing.
God's vibes are perfect; His word is tried and true: He’s a total shield for all who trust Him, no cap.
Who even is God, but the Lord? And who’s a solid rock, but our God?
God is my strength and power: He makes my way lit.
He gives me feet like a gazelle's: and sets me up in high places, fr.
He trains my hands for battle; like, I can break a steel bow with my arms, savage.
You’ve given me the shield of salvation: your gentleness makes me goated.
You’ve made my steps secure; my feet ain't slipping, periodt.
I chased down my enemies and wrecked them; didn’t stop until they were done for.
I totally consumed them and hurt them so they couldn’t get back up: they’re under my feet now.
You’ve strapped me with strength for battle: those who rose up against me, you put them down.
You’ve given me the necks of my haters, so I can take them out, no cap.
They looked around, but no one was saving them; even hit up the Lord, but he ghosted.
I crushed them to dust, like straight-up street grime, and scattered them everywhere.
You pulled me from the drama of my crew, kept me as the boss of the nations: people I didn’t even know will vibe with me.
Strangers gonna bow down to me: the moment they hear, they’ll be all in, fr.
Strangers gonna dip, and they’ll be shook in their hiding spots.
The Lord's alive; bless up my rock; big ups to the God who saves me.
It’s God who’s got my back, and takes down the squad under me,
And lifts me high above my enemies: you’ve saved me from the savage dudes.
So I’m gonna shout out thanks to you, Lord, among the nations, and I’ll drop some fire praises for your name.
He’s the ultimate safety net for his king, showing mad love to his chosen one, David, and his fam forever.
