Gen Z: 2 Chronicles 36
So the squad in the land took Jehoahaz, Josiah's kid, and made him king in Jerusalem, no cap.
Jehoahaz was 23 when he started ruling, but only lasted three months in Jerusalem, fr.
Then the king of Egypt rolled up and shut him down in Jerusalem, taxing him a hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold.
The king of Egypt made Eliakim, his bro, king over Judah and Jerusalem, and switched his name to Jehoiakim. Necho took Jehoahaz and bounced to Egypt.
Jehoiakim was 25 when he took the throne and ruled for eleven years, but he was totally sus in the eyes of the Lord.
Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, came at him, shackled him up, and dragged him to Babylon, savage.
Nebuchadnezzar took the holy stuff from the Lord's house to Babylon and stashed it in his temple, no cap.
The rest of Jehoiakim's acts and all his cringe moments are in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah. Jehoiachin, his son, took over after him.
Jehoiachin was just 8 when he started ruling, lasted three months and ten days in Jerusalem, but he was also sus in the Lord's eyes.
When the year was up, king Nebuchadnezzar sent for him, took him to Babylon with the good stuff from the Lord's house, and made Zedekiah, his bro, king over Judah and Jerusalem.
Zedekiah was 21 when he became king and ruled for eleven years in Jerusalem, fr.
He was also sus in the Lord's eyes and didn’t humble himself before Jeremiah, who was speaking for the Lord.
He even rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who made him swear by God, but he was stubborn and refused to turn back to the Lord God of Israel.
The priests and the people went wild with all the heathen vibes and messed up the Lord's house in Jerusalem, which was supposed to be holy.
The Lord God sent messengers to them, getting up early and sending them out, 'cause He felt for His people and His place, periodt.
But they clowned the messengers, dissed His words, and mistreated His prophets until the Lord's wrath hit them hard, and there was no way out.
So He sent the king of the Chaldees who took out their young men in the sanctuary, showing no mercy to anyone, young or old, periodt.
He took all the stuff from God's house, big and small, and the treasures of the Lord and the king, all of it to Babylon.
They burned down God's house, wrecked the walls of Jerusalem, set fire to all the palaces, and destroyed all the good stuff.
Those who survived the sword got taken to Babylon, where they served him and his sons until the Persian kingdom rolled in, no cap.
This was to fulfill the word of the Lord through Jeremiah, until the land got its sabbaths: while it was desolate, it kept sabbath for seventy years, fr.
In the first year of Cyrus, king of Persia, to fulfill the word of the Lord spoken by Jeremiah, the Lord stirred up Cyrus' spirit, and he made a proclamation across his kingdom, writing it down too.
Cyrus, king of Persia, said, "The Lord God of heaven gave me all the kingdoms of the earth and charged me to build Him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who's with me? Let the Lord his God be with him, and let him go up!"
