Gen Z: 2 Chronicles 35
Josiah threw a lit Passover party for the Lord in Jerusalem, and they sacrificed the Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month.
He got the priests in their roles and hyped them up for serving in the Lord's house, fr.
He told the Levites who schooled all of Israel, “Put the holy ark in the house that Solomon built; it ain't gonna be a burden, just serve the Lord and His peeps.”
Get yourselves ready by your fam's houses, following the plans from King David and Solomon, periodt.
Stand in the holy spot based on your fams, and follow the Levite fam divisions, no cap.
So, kill the Passover, sanctify yourselves, and prep your crew to roll out as per the Lord's word through Moses.
Josiah gave the people lambs and kids for the Passover, totaling thirty thousand and three thousand bullocks—straight from the king's stash.
His crew gave willingly to the people, priests, and Levites: Hilkiah, Zechariah, and Jehiel dropped two thousand six hundred small cattle and three hundred oxen for the Passover offerings.
Conaniah, Shemaiah, Nethaneel, Hashabiah, Jeiel, and Jozabad, the Levite bosses, gave five thousand small cattle and five hundred oxen for the Passover offerings.
The service was set, priests were in their spots, and the Levites were in their lanes, just like the king ordered.
They threw down the Passover, and the priests sprinkled that blood like it was nothing, while the Levites handled the rest.
They took the burnt offerings, serving them up to the fams just like Moses said. They did the same with the oxen, no cap.
They roasted the Passover fire-style, but other holy offerings were cooked in pots and pans, and they served it up quick to everyone.
Then they got ready for themselves and the priests since the priests, Aaron's crew, were busy with burnt offerings until nightfall; so the Levites had to prep for them too.
The singers, Asaph's squad, were on deck as David commanded, while the porters held it down at every gate, not leaving their posts, 'cause the Levites had their backs.
So all the Lord's service was lit that day, keeping the Passover and offering burnt offerings on the altar like King Josiah said.
The Israelites who were there kept the Passover and the feast of unleavened bread for seven days, vibes only.
There was no Passover like the one Josiah threw down; not since Samuel the prophet, and no other kings of Israel did it like that, with all the priests, Levites, Judah, Israel, and the peeps in Jerusalem.
This Passover went down in the eighteenth year of King Josiah's reign, periodt.
After all that, when Josiah had the temple ready, Necho, the king of Egypt, rolled up to fight at Carchemish by the Euphrates, and Josiah went out to meet him, fr.
So he sent some messengers, like, "Yo, what’s good, king of Judah? I ain't here to mess with you today, just the house I’m beefing with. God told me to hurry up, so don’t get in the way, or it’s gonna be sus for you."
But Josiah wasn’t about to back down; he went incognito to throw down, ignoring Necho’s God-given warning, and showed up to battle in the valley of Megiddo.
The archers started firing at King Josiah, and he told his crew, "Get me outta here; I’m really hurt."
So his crew pulled him outta that whip and tossed him into his backup ride; they took him back to Jerusalem, where he died and got laid to rest in his fam's tombs. Everyone in Judah and Jerusalem was straight-up mourning for Josiah.
Jeremiah was all about the feels for Josiah, and all the singers, both guys and gals, were vibing about him in their laments, making it a whole thing in Israel, and it’s still written down in the laments.
Now, all the other stuff Josiah did, the good vibes he spread, that’s all in the law of the Lord.
And all his moves, from start to finish, are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.
