Gen Z: 2 Chronicles 33
Manasseh was just 12 when he started running things, and he ruled for 55 years in Jerusalem, no cap.
But he was doing some sus stuff in God's eyes, just like the savage practices of the nations God kicked out before Israel.
He brought back the high places his dad Hezekiah tore down, built altars for Baalim, made groves, and worshipped the whole squad of heaven, serving them like it was lit.
He even set up altars in the Lord's house, where God was like, "My name's gonna be here forever, periodt."
Plus, he built altars for all the heavenly hosts in the two courts of the Lord's house, just vibing.
He made his kids walk through fire in the valley of Hinnom, practiced some wild magic, and messed with spirits and wizards, doing mad evil to make God angry.
He placed a carved idol he made in God's house, where God told David and Solomon, "This is my house in Jerusalem, forever."
God was like, "I ain't gonna kick Israel out of the land I promised your ancestors, as long as they follow my rules, fr."
So Manasseh led Judah and Jerusalem to mess up even worse than the nations God wiped out before Israel, no cap.
And God spoke to Manasseh and his crew, but they were like, "Nah, we're good."
So God sent the Assyrian army, who snagged Manasseh among the thorns, chained him up, and took him to Babylon, savage move.
When he was in trouble, he hit up the Lord, humbled himself big time before the God of his ancestors, real talk.
He prayed, and God was like, "I got you," heard his cry, and brought him back to Jerusalem and his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew the Lord was the real deal.
After that, he built a wall outside David's city on the west side of Gihon, from the valley to the fish gate, and made it super tall, putting war captains in all the fortified cities of Judah.
He ditched the strange gods and the idol from the Lord's house, plus all the altars he built on the mount of the Lord's house and in Jerusalem, tossing them out of the city, no cap.
He fixed the Lord's altar, made peace and thank offerings, and told Judah to serve the Lord God of Israel, periodt.
Still, the people kept sacrificing in the high places, but only to the Lord their God, vibing.
The rest of Manasseh's acts, his prayer, and the words of the seers who spoke to him in God's name, they’re all written in the kings of Israel's book, no cap.
His prayer, how God was there for him, all his sins, and where he built high places and set up groves and idols before he humbled himself, it’s all in the sayings of the seers.
So Manasseh passed away and was buried at home, and his son Amon took over, no cap.
Amon was 22 when he started his reign and held it down for two years in Jerusalem, no cap.
But he was doing the same sus stuff as his dad Manasseh, sacrificing to all the idols Manasseh made and serving them, fr.
He didn't humble himself before the Lord like Manasseh did; instead, he just kept messing up more.
His servants plotted against him and took him out in his own crib, savage.
But the locals took out all the conspirators against King Amon, and they made his son Josiah king instead, periodt.
