Gen Z: 2 Chronicles 22
The peeps in Jerusalem made Ahaziah, the youngest son, king 'cause all the older ones got taken out by some Arab squad. So, Ahaziah, son of Jehoram, was ruling Judah.
Ahaziah was 42 when he started his reign and only lasted a year in Jerusalem. His mom was Athaliah, daughter of Omri, no cap.
He was low-key following Ahab’s vibes, 'cause his mom was giving him sus advice to do bad stuff.
So, he was out here doing evil in God’s eyes, just like Ahab’s crew, 'cause they were his ride-or-die advisors after his dad passed.
He rolled with their advice and teamed up with Jehoram, Ahab's son, to throw down against Hazael, king of Syria, but the Syrians took Joram down.
He bounced back to Jezreel to heal from his wounds after the battle with Hazael. Azariah, son of Jehoram, went to check on him 'cause he was sick.
Ahaziah's downfall was on God, rolling up to Joram, and when he showed up, he teamed up with Jehoram against Jehu, who was chosen by the Lord to take out Ahab’s crew.
When Jehu was serving up judgment on Ahab’s fam, he found Judah's princes and Ahaziah's bros, and he took them out.
They were looking for Ahaziah and caught him hiding in Samaria, then brought him to Jehu. They took him out and buried him, saying, "He’s the son of Jehoshaphat, who was all about the Lord." So, Ahaziah’s crew couldn't hold down the kingdom.
But when Athaliah, Ahaziah’s mom, saw her son was dead, she got up and wiped out all the royal fam from Judah.
Jehoshabeath, the king's daughter, snatched Joash, Ahaziah’s son, from the slain kings' crew and hid him with his nurse. Jehoshabeath, daughter of king Jehoram and wife of priest Jehoiada (she was Ahaziah's sis), kept him safe from Athaliah, so she didn't take him out.
He was chilling with them in God’s house for six years while Athaliah was running the show.
