Gen Z: 1 Kings 5
Hiram, the king of Tyre, slid into Solomon’s DMs, 'cause he heard they crowned him king instead of his dad. Hiram was always vibin' with David.
Solomon hit up Hiram, saying,
You know how my dad David couldn’t build a crib for the Lord 'cause he was dealing with all those haters around him, until God put them in check.
But now, my God has given me chill vibes on all sides, so there’s no drama or bad energy.
So check it, I’m planning to build a house for the Lord, just like He told my dad David, saying, "Your son, who I’m placing on the throne, will build a crib for my name."
So, tell your crew to chop me some cedar trees from Lebanon; my squad will roll with yours, and I’ll pay you for your peeps based on what you decide, ‘cause you know no one can chop wood like the Sidonians.
When Hiram heard Solomon’s words, he was hyped and said, "Blessed be the Lord today for giving David a wise son for this dope people."
Hiram messaged Solomon back, saying, "I’ve thought about what you sent me, and I’ll hook you up with all the cedar and fir wood you want."
My crew will bring them down from Lebanon to the sea, and I’ll ship them by sea to where you tell me, and I’ll make sure they’re offloaded there, so you can get what you need for my fam.
So Hiram sent Solomon cedar and fir trees, just like he wanted.
Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand measures of wheat for his fam's food, plus twenty measures of pure oil; that’s how Solomon rolled with Hiram every year.
And the Lord dropped wisdom on Solomon like He promised, and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon; they made a pact together.
King Solomon gathered a squad from all Israel; it was thirty thousand strong.
He sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month on rotation: they’d chill in Lebanon for a month and then be home for two months; Adoniram was in charge of the squad.
Solomon had seventy thousand who carried loads and eighty thousand woodchoppers in the mountains;
Plus, there were three thousand three hundred of Solomon’s top officers who were in charge of the crew working on the project.
The king gave the order, and they brought in huge, expensive stones, and cut stones to lay the foundation of the house.
Solomon’s builders and Hiram’s builders worked together to cut them, and they got the timber and stones ready to build the house.
