Gen Z: Zechariah 13
On that day, a fountain’s gonna pop up for the squad in David's house and the peeps in Jerusalem for their sins and messiness.
And it’s gonna go down, says the Lord, that I’ll ghost all the idol names from the land, and they won’t even be a thing anymore: plus, I’ll make the prophets and the sus spirits dip out.
And when anyone tries to prophesy, their fam is gonna be like, “Nah, you can’t live; you’re capping in the Lord’s name,” and they’ll straight up take him out when he’s talking that talk.
It’s gonna hit different on that day; the prophets will feel mad embarrassed about their visions, and they won’t wear those rough clothes to trick anyone.
But he’ll be like, “I’m not a prophet, I’m just a farmer; peeps taught me to handle cows since I was a kid.”
And someone will ask him, “What’s up with those wounds on your hands?” And he’ll reply, “These are from when my friends hurt me.”
Wake up, sword, against my homie, the shepherd, says the Lord: hit the shepherd, and the crew will scatter: I’m gonna turn my hand on the little ones.
And it’s gonna be wild, says the Lord; two-thirds of the land’s gonna be cut off and gone; but a third will stick around.
I’ll bring that third through the fire, refine them like silver, and test them like gold: they’ll call on my name, and I’ll hear them: I’ll say, “They’re my peeps,” and they’ll say, “The Lord is my God.”
