Gen Z: Psalms 74
Yo God, why you ghosting us forever? Your anger's straight up smoking against your flock, no cap.
Don’t forget your squad, the ones you bought way back; that spot on Mount Zion where you chill.
Step up and check out the wreckage; the enemy's been wildin' in your sanctuary, fr.
Your enemies are roaring in the crowd; they’re flexing their flags like it’s a big deal.
A dude was famous for swinging axes at the thick trees, that’s some serious rizz.
But now they’re just wrecking your carvings with axes and hammers, savage.
They threw fire in your sanctuary, totally dissing your name by trashing your place.
They’re like, “Let’s take them out together”: they’ve burned all the God spots in the land.
We can’t see our signs anymore; no prophet around to tell us how long this will last.
Yo God, how long will the haters talk smack? Are they gonna blaspheme your name forever?
Why you holding back your hand, even your strong one? Pull it out already.
For real, God’s my King from way back, saving us right here on earth.
You split the sea with your strength; you smashed the heads of dragons in the waters, lit.
You broke Leviathan into pieces and fed him to the wilderness crew, that’s goated.
You opened up the fountain and the flood: you dried up the mighty rivers, no cap.
The day is yours, and the night too: you set up the light and the sun, periodt.
You laid out all the borders of the earth: you made summer and winter, that’s facts.
Remember this, that the enemy’s been talking trash, Lord, and the fools are dissing your name.
Don’t let the soul of your turtledove get tossed to the wicked crowd: don’t forget your poor squad forever.
Keep your covenant in mind: the dark spots of the earth are full of cruel vibes.
Don’t let the oppressed go back feeling ashamed: let the poor and needy hype up your name.
Rise up, God, and defend your cause: remember how these fools come for you daily.
Don’t forget the voice of your enemies: the noise from those rising up against you just keeps getting louder.
