Gen Z: Psalms 44
We heard it straight up, God, our fam told us about the dope stuff you did back in the day.
You straight-up kicked out the haters with your hands, then planted us here; you made the people bounce.
They didn’t snag the land with their own swords; it was your right hand and the glow of your face that saved them, no cap.
You’re my King, God; drop those deliverances for Jacob, fr.
With you, we’ll take down our foes; through your name, we’ll step on anyone who tries to flex on us.
I’m not trusting my bow, and my sword ain’t saving me, periodt.
But you’ve saved us from the haters and made those who hate us look sus.
We’re flexin’ on God all day, and we’ll praise your name forever. Selah.
But you’ve ghosted us and made us look bad; you’re not rolling with our squad.
You make us retreat from the enemy, and those who hate us are out here vibing off our losses.
You’ve got us feeling like sheep ready for the grill, scattered among the vibes of the non-believers.
You’re selling your people for nothing, and it ain’t boosting your wealth, fr.
You’ve made us a joke to our neighbors, like a total meme to everyone around us.
You’ve turned us into a byword among the non-believers, and people are just shaking their heads.
My confusion is always on blast, and the shame of my face is covering me, no cap.
It’s the sound of haters coming at me, thanks to the enemy and the one seeking revenge.
All this has hit us hard; still, we haven’t forgotten you or played you dirty in our deal.
Our hearts aren’t turned back, and we haven’t stepped away from your path, periodt.
Even though you’ve really broken us in the dragon zone and covered us with that shadow of death.
If we’ve forgotten the name of our God or reached out to some random god;
Yo, doesn’t God peep everything? He knows all the secrets in our hearts, no cap.
For real, we getting wrecked all day, just like sheep headed for the chop.
Wake up, Lord! Why you snoozing? Don’t ghost us forever, fam.
Why you hiding, though? You forgetting our struggle and pain? That’s sus.
Our souls are lowkey crushed, like we’re straight up on the ground.
Step up and help us out, please! Do it for the sake of your mercy, fr.
