Gen Z: Psalms 17
Yo, Lord, hear me out, listen to my vibes, and peep my prayer, no cap.
Let my truth drop from your presence; let your eyes see what's real.
You checked my heart; you visited me at night; you tried me, and found nothing sus; I'm set on not spilling tea.
About what people do, by your word I’ve dodged the paths of the haters.
Keep my steps on point, so I don’t slip up.
I called on you, God, and I know you’ll hear me; lean in and catch my words.
Show your epic love, you who saves those who trust in you from the haters.
Keep me close, like the apple of your eye, hide me under your wings, fr.
From the wicked who are on my case, from my dangerous enemies surrounding me.
They’re all wrapped up in their own ego; they talk big game.
They’ve got us surrounded, eyes low to the ground; it’s sus.
Like a lion hungry for the hunt, or a young lion sneaking around.
Rise up, Lord, show them what’s up, deliver my soul from the wicked, that’s your move.
From the people who are your hand, Lord, from those living for today, whose bellies are full of hidden treasure: they’ve got kids and leave leftovers for them.
As for me, I’ll see your face in righteousness: I’ll be lit when I wake up, looking like you.
