Gen Z: Matthew 17
After six days, Jesus took Peter, James, and his bro John and hiked up this high mountain, just the squad.
Then he totally glowed up in front of them; his face was shining like the sun, and his drip was pure white light.
And boom, Moses and Elijah rolled up, vibing and chatting with him.
Peter was like, "Yo, Jesus, it’s lit here! Let’s build three chill spots—one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah."
While he was still talking, a lit cloud showed up, and a voice from the cloud said, "This is my dope Son, I’m so proud of him; listen up!"
When the disciples heard this, they straight-up fell on their faces, shook and scared.
Jesus came over, touched them, and said, "Get up, fam, don’t be scared."
When they looked up, it was just Jesus, no one else in sight.
As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus was like, "Don’t spill the tea about this until I rise from the dead."
The disciples were like, "So, why do the scribes say Elijah has to come first?"
Jesus was like, "For real, Elijah's gotta come first and fix everything. That's the vibe."
But I'm telling you, Elijah's already here, and they didn't even recognize him. They just did whatever they wanted. Same is gonna happen to the Son of Man.
Then the squad realized he was talking about John the Baptist, no cap.
When they got to the crowd, a dude came up, kneeling and saying,
"Lord, please help my son! He's acting wild and is always in a bad spot; he keeps falling into fire and water, it's sus."
"I brought him to your crew, but they couldn't help him."
Jesus was like, "Oof, this generation is so faithless and wild. How long am I gonna deal with you? Just bring him over here."
Jesus told the demon to bounce, and it left him; the kid was healed right then and there, lit!
Later, the disciples pulled Jesus aside and asked, "Why couldn't we kick it out?"
Jesus replied, "It's 'cause y'all lack faith. For real, if you had faith like a mustard seed, you could tell this mountain to move, and it would. Nothing's impossible for you, periodt."
But this vibe ain't leaving without prayer and fasting, no cap.
While they were chilling in Galilee, Jesus was like, "The Son of Man's about to get betrayed, fam."
They gonna kill him, but on the third day, he’s coming back, fr. They were super bummed about it.
When they rolled up to Capernaum, the tax collectors hit up Peter, asking, "Does your guy pay taxes?"
He was like, "Yeah." But when he got home, Jesus was like, "Yo, Simon, who do kings take taxes from? Their kids or randoms?"
Peter said, "Randoms." Jesus replied, "So the kids are free then, no cap."
But to avoid drama, hit the sea, throw in a hook, and catch the first fish. When you open its mouth, you’ll find cash; take that and pay them for us.
