Gen Z: Lamentations 2
The Lord's totally throwing shade on Zion, covering her with clouds in anger, and just like that, the beauty of Israel's down for the count. He ain't even remembering his footstool on his bad days!
God straight up devoured all of Jacob's spots, no cap. He wrecked Judah's strongholds like a savage and brought everything crashing down.
In his fierce vibes, he cut off Israel's rizz, pulling back his hand from the enemies, burning against Jacob like a fire that just won't chill.
He bent his bow like a total enemy, standing there like an adversary, taking out all the pretty things in Zion's tabernacle. His fury was lit like fire.
The Lord was acting like an enemy, swallowing up Israel and her palaces, destroying strongholds and making Judah's girls cry like it's a sad song.
He snatched up his tabernacle like it was a garden and wrecked the hangout spots. The solemn feasts and sabbaths? Forgotten in Zion, and he straight up dissed the king and the priest.
The Lord ghosted his altar and hated his sanctuary, giving up the walls of her palaces to the enemy; they were making noise in the Lord's house like it was a party.
The Lord's like, “I’m done,” stretching out a line to destroy Zion's wall; he made the rampart and the wall cry together, no cap.
Her gates are sunk, bars broken; her king and princes are among the Gentiles, law's gone, and her prophets are lost, no vision from the Lord.
The elders of Zion are just sitting on the ground, silent, throwing dust on their heads, while the virgins of Jerusalem are hanging their heads low.
My eyes are pouring tears, my insides are a mess, feeling it for the destruction of my peeps; kids and babies fainting in the streets, fr.
They’re asking their moms, “Where's the food and drink?” while they’re swooning like they’ve been hit, pouring their souls out to their moms.
What can I even say to comfort you, oh Jerusalem? Your breach is massive like the ocean; who even can heal that?
Your prophets are seeing all this sus stuff for you, not finding your issues to help you out; just false burdens and reasons to banish you.
Everyone passing by is clapping and laughing at you, shaking their heads at Jerusalem, saying, “Is this really the city that was called the perfection of beauty?”
All your enemies are hissing and gnashing their teeth, saying, “We totally swallowed her up; this is the day we were waiting for!”
The Lord’s done what he planned, fulfilling his word from back in the day; he threw you down with no pity, making your enemies pop off.
Their hearts cried to the Lord, “O wall of Zion, let tears flow like a river, day and night; don’t give yourself a break!”
Rise up, scream in the night; pour out your heart like water before the Lord, lifting your hands for your kids fainting from hunger in every street.
Look, Lord, and see who you’ve done this to. Are the women eating their own kids? Are priests and prophets getting slain in your sanctuary?
The young and old are on the ground in the streets; my girls and guys fell by the sword; you slayed them in your anger, no mercy.
You called in my fears like it’s a big day, so in the Lord's anger, nobody escaped; those I raised up have been consumed by my enemy.
