Gen Z: Joshua 20
God hit up Joshua, saying,
Tell the squad of Israel to set up some chill spots, the cities of refuge, like I told you through Moses, fr.
So if someone accidentally takes out a person, they can bounce to these spots for safety; it’s their vibe check against the avenger of blood.
When they run to one of those cities, they gotta stand at the gate and spill their tea to the elders, who will let them in and give them a place to crash.
If the avenger of blood comes after them, they can’t hand over the slayer, no cap, ‘cause they didn’t mean to do it and weren’t beefing before.
They’ll chill in that city until they face the crew for judgment and until the high priest kicks the bucket; then the slayer can go back home, periodt.
They set up Kedesh in Galilee on Mount Naphtali, Shechem in Mount Ephraim, and Kirjath-arba, aka Hebron, in Judah’s mountains.
On the other side of Jordan by Jericho, they gave Bezer in the wilderness, Ramoth in Gilead, and Golan in Bashan, all from the tribes, bet.
These were the spots for all the Israelites and anyone hanging out with them, so if someone accidentally takes a life, they can dip to safety and not get got by the avenger until they face the crew.
