Gen Z: Jeremiah 52
Zedekiah was 21 when he started flexing as king, and he ruled for 11 years in Jerusalem. His mom's name was Hamutal, daughter of Jeremiah from Libnah.
He was lowkey doing bad stuff in God's eyes, just like Jehoiakim did.
The Lord was mad, so in Jerusalem and Judah, Zedekiah went rogue against the king of Babylon.
In the ninth year of his reign, on the tenth month and day, Nebuchadrezzar, the king of Babylon, rolled up with his whole squad against Jerusalem, building forts all around it.
So the city was under siege until the eleventh year of King Zedekiah.
In the fourth month, on the ninth day, the city was starving hard; no bread for the people, fr.
Then the city got wrecked, and all the warriors dipped out at night through the gate by the king’s garden; the Chaldeans were surrounding the city, but they bounced through the plains.
The Chaldean army chased the king down and caught Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho; his whole crew was scattered.
They took the king and brought him to the king of Babylon in Riblah, where he got judged.
The king of Babylon straight-up executed Zedekiah's sons right in front of him and took out all the princes of Judah in Riblah.
They straight up took out Zedekiah's eyes; the king of Babylon had him chained up and sent to prison in Babylon till he passed away. No cap.
In the fifth month, on the tenth day, in Nebuchadnezzar’s 19th year, Nebuzar-adan, the guard captain, rolled up to Jerusalem. Lit vibes.
He burned down the Lord's house, the king’s crib, and all the dope spots in Jerusalem, even the rich folks' pads. Savage.
The whole Chaldean squad with the guard captain wrecked all the walls of Jerusalem. Pop off.
Nebuzar-adan took some of the poor peeps captive and grabbed the rest of the folks chillin' in the city, plus those who switched sides to the king of Babylon. Bussin'.
But Nebuzar-adan left some of the poor to be farmers and take care of the land. Bet.
They smashed the brass pillars from the Lord's house, plus the bases and the big brass sea, and took all that brass to Babylon. Fr.
They also grabbed the caldrons, shovels, snuffers, bowls, spoons, and all the brass utensils they used. No cap.
The basins, firepans, bowls, caldrons, candlesticks, spoons, and cups; they took all the gold stuff and silver stuff too. Goated.
The two pillars, one sea, and twelve brass bulls under the bases that Solomon made were all brass, and the weight of it was crazy. Periodt.
So like, one pillar was eighteen cubits tall, had this twelve cubit vibe around it, and was four fingers thick, totally hollow.
On top, it had this brass chapiter, five cubits high, with some dope network and pomegranates all around, all brass vibes. The second pillar was just as lit.
There were ninety-six pomegranates on each side, and all around the network, there were a hundred pomegranates, no cap.
The captain of the guard snatched up Seraiah the chief priest, Zephaniah the second priest, and the three door keepers, straight up.
He also took an eunuch who was in charge of the soldiers, plus seven guys close to the king, and the main scribe who counted the peeps in the land, and sixty more from the city.
So Nebuzar–adan, the captain of the guard, took them all and brought them to the king of Babylon at Riblah, periodt.
The king of Babylon took them out, smote them, and put them to death in Riblah, in the land of Hamath. Judah was straight up taken captive from his own land, fr.
This is the crew Nebuchadrezzar took captive: in the seventh year, three thousand Jews and twenty-three, lit.
In the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar, he took eight hundred thirty-two from Jerusalem, no cap.
In the twenty-third year, Nebuzar–adan took seven hundred forty-five Jews captive: all in all, four thousand six hundred were taken, savage.
So like, in the 37th year of Jehoiachin's struggle, in the 12th month, on the 25th day, Evil-merodach, the king of Babylon, was like, "Bet," and pulled Jehoiachin outta prison.
He was all nice to him and put his throne above all the other kings in Babylon, vibin' high.
He switched up Jehoiachin's prison drip and made sure he was munchin' on bread in front of him every day.
The king of Babylon kept him on a daily bread plan, no cap, till the end of his days.
