Gen Z: Jeremiah 32
Yo, word from the Lord hit Jeremiah in the tenth year of Zedekiah, king of Judah, and it was Nebuchadrezzar’s eighteenth year. Major vibes.
So, the Babylonians were straight-up surrounding Jerusalem, and Jeremiah was chilling in the prison court at the king’s crib.
Zedekiah was like, "Why you prophesying, fam? God said He’s handing this city over to Babylon, and they’re taking it."
Zedekiah ain't escaping the Chaldeans; he’s definitely getting delivered to Babylon, and they’ll chat face to face, no cap.
He’ll take Zedekiah to Babylon, and he’s stuck there till I check on him, says the Lord: even if you fight the Chaldeans, you ain't winning.
Then Jeremiah was like, "The Lord dropped this word on me, saying,"
“Check it, Hanameel, your uncle's son, is gonna roll up to you, saying, ‘Buy my field in Anathoth, it’s your move to cop it.’”
So, Hanameel pulled up to me in the prison court, just like the Lord said, and was like, “Yo, buy my field in Anathoth, it’s yours to inherit.” I knew then this was from the Lord.
So, I bought the field from Hanameel, my uncle’s son, in Anathoth and dropped him some cash—seventeen shekels of silver, no cap.
I signed the deal, sealed it up, got witnesses, and weighed the cash like a boss.
So I took the purchase proof, both the sealed vibes and the open ones, fr.
I handed the purchase proof to Baruch, son of Neriah, in front of Hanameel, my uncle’s kid, and all the witnesses who were there, no cap.
I told Baruch in front of them, "Listen up."
The Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, said, "Take these proofs, the sealed and the open ones, and stash them in a clay pot so they last a long time, periodt."
The Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, is saying that houses, fields, and vineyards will be owned again in this land.
After I gave the purchase proof to Baruch, I prayed to the Lord, saying,
"Yo, Lord God! You made the heaven and the earth with your epic power and strong arm, and nothing’s too tough for you, fr."
You show mad love to thousands and pay back the wrongs of the fathers to their kids after them; the Great and Mighty God, the Lord of hosts, that's your name, no cap.
You're great in advice and strong in action; your eyes see all the ways of humans, giving everyone what they deserve based on their actions, periodt.
You set up signs and wonders in Egypt, even now, and in Israel, and made a name for yourself, just like today.
You brought your squad, Israel, outta Egypt with mad signs and wonders, flexin' hard with a strong hand, and it was straight-up terrifying; vibes were intense.
You hooked them up with this land you promised their fam, a place dripping with milk and honey; that's lit!
They rolled in and took over, but no cap, they ignored your vibe and didn’t follow your rules; they straight-up ghosted on your commands, so all this bad stuff hit them hard.
Yo, check it, the mountains are coming for the city to take it; the Chaldeans got the city on lock, fighting hard 'cause of the sword, famine, and pestilence; what you said is happening, and you see it, periodt.
You told me, "Yo, Lord God, cop that field for cash and get some witnesses; the city is in the Chaldeans' hands."
Then the Lord hit up Jeremiah with the word, saying,
Yo, I’m the Lord, God of all flesh: is there anything too sus for me?
So the Lord said, "Bet, I’m giving this city to the Chaldeans and Nebuchadrezzar, king of Babylon; he’s gonna take it."
The Chaldeans fighting this city are gonna roll up and set it on fire, burning it down along with the houses where they’ve been vibing with Baal and pouring out offerings to other gods, trying to get me mad.
The kids of Israel and Judah have just been on some evil vibes since day one; the kids of Israel have only made me mad with their actions, says the Lord.
This city’s been a total vibe check for my anger since day one, and I’m thinking about ghosting it for real.
All the sus stuff the kids of Israel and Judah pulled to get me mad, like their kings, princes, priests, and all the peeps in Jerusalem, no cap.
They turned their backs on me, ignoring my teachings even though I was up early trying to school them, fr.
But they went and put their wild stuff in my crib, like, why you gotta defile it?
They built those high places for Baal in the valley, making their kids pass through fire for Molech, which I straight up said not to do, sus vibes.
So here’s the deal from the Big Guy, the God of Israel: this city you think is going down to the Babylonians by sword, famine, and pestilence?
Bet, I’m gonna gather them from all the places I sent them off in my anger, and I’ll bring them back to chill here safely.
They’ll be my fam, and I’ll be their God, periodt.
I’m giving them one heart and one path so they can fear me forever, for their good and their kids’ good too.
I’ll make a forever deal with them, no backing out to do them good; I’ll put my fear in their hearts so they won’t dip from me.
For real, I'm gonna vibe with them and do good stuff, planting them in this land with my whole heart and soul, no cap.
God’s like, “Listen up, I brought all that drama on them, but I’m also gonna drop all the good I promised, periodt.”
Fields are gonna be bought in this land, even though y’all think it’s dead with no peeps or animals; it’s in the hands of the Chaldeans, fr.
People gonna buy fields for cash, sign the papers, seal the deal, and get witnesses in Benjamin, around Jerusalem, and all over Judah; I’m bringing their squad back, says the Lord.
