Gen Z: Jeremiah 14
Yo, the word from God hit Jeremiah about the drought vibes.
Judah's all sad, gates looking rough; everything's dark, and Jerusalem's crying out.
Their nobles sent the kiddos to the water, but they came back empty-handed, feeling mad sus.
The ground's all cracked 'cause no rain, and the farmers are just ashamed, hiding their faces.
Even the deer ditched the field 'cause there’s no grass, fr.
Wild donkeys chilling on the hills, sniffing the wind like dragons, but their eyes are all sad, no grass around.
O Lord, our mess-ups are real, but do it for your name's sake; we've fallen off hard.
O hope of Israel, our savior in tough times, why you acting like a stranger here, just passing through?
Why you looking all shocked, like a hero who can’t save? But you, O Lord, are here with us, and we’re called by your name; don’t dip on us.
God’s like, "These people just love to wander; they won’t chill out, so I’m not accepting them. I’m about to remember their sins."
Then God told me, "Don’t pray for their good, fam."
When they fast, I won’t hear them; their offerings? Nah, not accepting those. I’ll just let them feel the sword, famine, and sickness.
So I was like, "Yo, God! The prophets are telling them they won’t see trouble, but I’m giving them peace here."
God was like, "The prophets are lying in my name; I didn’t send them, and they’re just spreading false vibes."
So God says about those prophets, "They say there’s no sword or famine here; but they’re gonna be the ones taken out by it."
And the people they prophesy to will be out in the streets of Jerusalem, no one to bury them or their fam, 'cause I’m pouring out their wickedness.
So you gotta tell them this: Let my eyes shed tears night and day, 'cause my peeps are hurting bad.
If I step into the field, I see the slain; if I hit the city, it’s all sick from famine! The prophets and priests are lost in a land they don’t know.
Have you totally rejected Judah? Do you hate Zion? Why you hitting us with no healing? We wanted peace, but it’s all trouble!
We admit, O Lord, our wickedness and our fam's sins; we’ve messed up big time.
Don’t hate us for your name’s sake, don’t disgrace your glory; remember, don’t break your promise with us.
Are any of the fake gods out there able to make it rain? Can the heavens shower us? Aren’t you, O Lord our God? We’ll wait on you, 'cause you made all this.
