Gen Z: Isaiah 64
Yo, can you just tear open the heavens and slide down? Let the mountains vibe down in your presence.
Like when fire melts stuff, and it makes the waters bubble, showing your name to the haters, so the nations are shook in your presence!
You did some wild stuff we didn’t even expect, and then you came down, and the mountains were like, "Whoa!"
For real, since day one, peeps haven’t heard or seen anything like what you got planned for those who wait on you, no cap.
You vibe with those who are pumped and do good things, remembering you in their ways: but you’re mad 'cause we messed up; in those is hope, and we’ll be saved.
But we’re all kinda sus, and our good deeds are like dirty rags; we fade like leaves, and our wrongs just blow us away.
And no one’s calling on your name, trying to grab hold of you: you’ve hidden your face from us and we’re done for because of our wrongs.
But now, Lord, you’re our dad; we’re the clay, and you’re the potter; we’re all your masterpiece.
Don’t be too mad, Lord, and don’t hold our wrongs against us forever: check it, we’re all your peeps.
Your holy cities are straight up a wasteland, Zion’s a ghost town, and Jerusalem’s just sad.
Our holy and beautiful spot, where our fam praised you, is all burnt up, and our good vibes are wrecked.
Are you just gonna chill while all this happens, Lord? Are you gonna stay silent and let us suffer hard?
