Isaiah 6

Gen Z: Isaiah 6

1In the year king Uzziah dipped, I peeped the Lord chillin' on a throne, high key lifted up, and his vibe filled the temple.

2Above it were the seraphim, each flexin' six wings; with two they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flyin' around.

3And one was like, "Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is straight-up full of his glory."

4The doorposts shook when he hollered, and the house was smokin' like it was lit.

5Then I was like, "Yikes! I'm totally wrecked; I'm just a dude with unclean vibes, and I roll with a crew of unclean vibes too: my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts."

6Then one of the seraphim flew to me, holding a hot coal he grabbed with tongs from the altar:

7He touched my lips and said, "Yo, this just vibed with your lips; your bad energy is gone, and your sins are wiped clean."

8I heard the Lord's voice sayin', "Who should I send, and who's gonna roll with us?" I was like, "Here I am; send me."

9And he said, "Go tell these peeps, they hear but don’t get it; they see but can’t catch the vibe."

10Make their hearts heavy, their ears stuffed, and their eyes shut; otherwise, they might see, hear, understand, and get healed, no cap.

11Then I asked, "Lord, how long?" And he said, "Until the cities are ghost towns, houses are empty, and the land is totally desolate."

12And the Lord has pushed people far away, and there's a major forsaking in the land.

13But still, there will be a tenth left, and it will bounce back and be consumed: like a teil tree and an oak, whose substance is in them when they drop their leaves: so the holy seed will be the real deal.

KJV: Isaiah 6

1In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

2Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.

3And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

4And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

5Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.

6Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:

7And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

8Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

9And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.

10Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.

11Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate,

12And the Lord have removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land.

13But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof.
