Gen Z: Isaiah 59
Yo, the Lord’s hand ain’t short, He can totally save; His ear ain’t heavy, He can hear you, no cap.
But your bad vibes have put a wall between you and God, and your sins have hid His face, so He ain't listening.
Your hands are grimy with blood, your fingers are sus with sin; you’re spitting lies and your tongue is acting wild.
Nobody's calling for justice or keeping it real; they’re vibing with lies, plotting mischief, and that’s just savage.
They’re hatching some shady eggs and spinning a web; if you munch on their eggs, it’s game over, and what’s crushed turns into a snake.
Their webs won't turn into drip, and they can't cover up their messy work: it’s all bad vibes, and they’re just causing chaos.
Their feet are running towards evil, rushing to spill innocent blood; their thoughts are all twisted; waste and destruction are their jam.
They don’t even know the way to peace; no judgment in their moves; they’ve made their paths all crooked, and if you walk them, good luck finding peace.
So judgment is far away, and justice is ghosting us; we’re waiting for light, but it’s just dark times, fr.
We’re feeling our way like the blind, stumbling in the daylight like it’s night; we’re in empty places, like we’re living ghosts.
We’re roaring like bears and crying like doves; looking for justice but it’s MIA, and salvation is nowhere to be found.
Our sins are piling up, and they’re totally calling us out; we know our wrongs, and they’re right here with us.
We’re out here lying to the Lord, turning away from God, speaking oppression and revolt, and spitting falsehoods straight from the heart.
And judgment is just taking a step back, and justice is chilling far away; truth has hit the ground, and fairness can’t even get in.
Yeah, truth is flopping; if you step away from evil, you’re just a target; the Lord noticed and wasn’t vibing with the lack of judgment.
He saw there was no one to step up, and it blew His mind; so His arm brought salvation, and His righteousness had His back.
He rocked righteousness like a breastplate and a helmet of salvation on His head; He put on vengeance like a fit and was all about that zeal.
He’s gonna dish out what’s deserved, bringing fury to His foes and payback to His enemies; even the islands will get their due.
They’ll fear the Lord’s name from the west, and His glory from the sunrise; when the enemy rolls in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will raise a standard.
And the Redeemer is coming to Zion, for those who turn from their wrongs in Jacob, says the Lord.
As for me, this is my deal with them, says the Lord; My spirit’s on you, and the words I dropped in your mouth won’t dip out, not now, not ever.
