Gen Z: Hosea 11
When Israel was a little kid, I was all about him, and I pulled my son outta Egypt.
They were called, but they dipped: they were sacrificing to Baalim and burning incense to fake idols.
I showed Ephraim how to roll, holding them up; but they didn’t even know I was healing them.
I pulled them in with love vibes, like taking off a heavy yoke, and I fed them good food.
He ain't going back to Egypt, but the Assyrian's gonna be his king, 'cause they wouldn’t bounce back.
The sword’s gonna chill in his cities, and it’ll munch on his branches, all 'cause of their own plans.
My people are low-key slipping away from me: they called out to the Most High, but no one gave him props.
How can I let you go, Ephraim? How can I bail on you, Israel? How can I treat you like Admah or Zeboim? My heart's all twisted up, and I'm feeling it.
I won’t unleash my full anger, I’m not gonna wreck Ephraim: 'cause I’m God, not just a dude; the Holy One among you: and I’m not rolling into the city.
They’re gonna follow the Lord: he’ll roar like a lion: when he roars, the kids will be shook from the west.
They’ll be trembling like a bird outta Egypt, and a dove from Assyria: and I’ll set them up in their homes, says the Lord.
Ephraim's surrounding me with lies, and Israel’s got deceit: but Judah’s still holding it down with God, and keeps it real with the saints.
