Gen Z: Habakkuk 1
Habakkuk the prophet saw some heavy stuff, no cap.
Yo Lord, how long I gotta scream and you’re just ghosting me? Like, I’m shouting about the violence and you ain’t saving anyone!
Why you showing me all this bad stuff? It’s just chaos and drama all around, and people are starting beef.
So like, the law is slacking hard, and justice is MIA: the wicked are vibing around the righteous, and it’s just wrong vibes everywhere.
Check it, peeps! Look at the nations and be shook: I’m about to do something wild in your days, and you won’t even believe it, fr.
I’m raising up the Chaldeans, this savage nation that’s coming through to snatch what isn’t theirs.
They’re straight-up terrifying: their judgment is all on them, like, they’re their own hype.
Their horses are faster than leopards and fiercer than wolves at night; their riders are coming from far and are ready to swoop in like eagles.
They’re all about that violence: their faces are like the east wind, gathering captives like it’s sand.
They’ll roast kings and laugh at princes; they’ll make fun of strongholds, just piling up dust and taking it.
Then their vibe switches up, and they’ll pass through, flexing their power like it’s from their god.
Aren’t you eternal, Lord my God, the Holy One? We’re not about to die. You set these folks up for judgment, and you’re all about that correction, mighty God.
You’re too pure to even look at evil, so why you watching those shady characters and staying silent while the wicked munch on the righteous?
You treat people like fish in the sea, with no one to lead them, sus.
They’re reeling them in with their nets, catching them and vibing; that’s why they’re all hyped and happy.
So they’re sacrificing to their nets and burning incense to their drag; they’re living large off that catch, no cap.
Are they really gonna keep emptying their nets and not stop taking out nations?
