Gen Z: Genesis 22
1So, after all that, God hits up Abraham and says, “Yo, Abraham!” and he’s like, “What’s good? I’m here.”
2God tells him, “Take your only son Isaac, the one you love, and head to Moriah; I need you to vibe check him as a burnt offering on a mountain I’ll show you.”
3Early morning grind, Abraham saddles up, grabs two of his boys and Isaac, chops the wood for the offering, and heads out to the spot God gave him the heads up about.
4On day three, Abraham looks up and sees the place from a distance.
5He tells his crew, “Chill here with the donkey; me and the kid are gonna go worship and we’ll be back.”
6Abraham loads the wood on Isaac, takes fire and a knife, and they both roll out together.
7Isaac’s like, “Dad, I see the fire and wood, but where’s the lamb for the offering?” and Abraham responds, “I got you, my son.”
8Abraham says, “God’s got the lamb covered,” and they continue on together.
9They reach the spot God told him about; Abraham builds an altar, arranges the wood, ties up Isaac, and lays him on the altar.
10Abraham reaches for the knife to do the thing with his son.
11The angel of the Lord hit up Abraham from the sky and was like, "Yo, Abraham!" And he was like, "I’m here, fam."
12The angel said, "Don’t touch the kid or do anything to him. I see you really fear God, 'cause you didn’t hold back your only son."
13Abraham looked up and saw a ram stuck in some bushes. He went and grabbed it, offering it instead of his son. Major rizz move.
14Abraham named that spot Jehovah–jireh, which means "God provides," and people still say that today, vibes on the mount.
15The angel of the Lord called Abraham again from the sky, like, "I’m back."
16He said, "I swear by myself, the Lord, ‘cause you did this and didn’t hold back your only son:
17I'm gonna bless you big time, and your fam will be as many as the stars and sand by the beach; your kids will own the gates of their enemies."
18All the nations will be blessed through your kids, 'cause you listened to me, no cap.
19So Abraham rolled back to his crew, they got up and went to Beer-sheba, and he settled there.
20Later, Abraham heard that Milcah had some kids with his bro Nahor.
21Yo, Huz is the firstborn, and Buz is his bro, plus Kemuel, the dad of Aram.
22Then there's Chesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph, and Bethuel, all chillin'.
23Bethuel popped out Rebekah; Milcah had eight kids for Nahor, Abraham's bro.
24His side chick, named Reumah, also had Tebah, Gaham, Thahash, and Maachah.
