Genesis 11

Gen Z: Genesis 11

1The whole earth was vibing with one language and one speech.

2They were on a trip from the east and found this chill plain in Shinar, so they set up shop there.

3They were like, "Yo, let’s make some bricks and get them lit." They used bricks instead of stones and slime instead of mortar.

4They said, "Let’s build a city and a tower that reaches heaven. We need a name for ourselves, so we don’t get scattered everywhere."

5The Lord dropped down to peep the city and the tower the people were building.

6The Lord was like, "These folks are one, and they all speak the same language. They’re just getting started, and nothing can stop their rizz."

7The Lord said, "Let’s go down and mess up their language so they can’t understand each other."

8So the Lord scattered them all over the earth, and they stopped building the city.

9That’s why it’s called Babel; the Lord mixed up everyone’s language there and scattered them all over the earth.

10These are the fam lines of Shem: he was 100 years old when he had Arphaxad, two years after the flood.

11Shem was chillin' for 500 years after having Arphaxad, and had mad sons and daughters, no cap.

12Arphaxad was 35 when he had Salah, straight up.

13After having Salah, Arphaxad vibed for 403 more years and had more kids, fr.

14Salah was 30 when he had Eber, lit move.

15Salah lived another 403 years after Eber and had more sons and daughters, periodt.

16Eber was 34 when he had Peleg, that’s wild.

17Eber popped off for 430 more years after Peleg and had more kids, no cap.

18Peleg was 30 when he had Reu, that's some good rizz.

19Peleg chilled for 209 years after Reu and had more sons and daughters, for real.

20Reu was 32 when he had Serug, big vibes.

21Reu lived for 207 years after he had Serug, and he had a bunch of kids. Vibes.

22Serug lived 30 years and then had Nahor, fr.

23Serug kept living for 200 years after Nahor and had more kids. No cap.

24Nahor was 29 when he had Terah, lit.

25Nahor lived 119 years after Terah and had more kids too, periodt.

26Terah was 70 when he had Abram, Nahor, and Haran. Goated.

27Here’s the fam tree: Terah had Abram, Nahor, and Haran; Haran had Lot. Bet.

28Haran passed away before his dad Terah in Ur. So sus.

29Abram and Nahor got married; Abram's wifey was Sarai, and Nahor’s was Milcah, who was Haran's daughter.

30But Sarai couldn’t have kids; she was barren. Bussin’ in a different way.

31So Terah grabbed his son Abram, his grandson Lot, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, and they dipped from Ur of the Chaldees to hit up Canaan; they ended up chilling in Haran for a minute.

32Terah lived for 205 years, then he peaced out in Haran.

KJV: Genesis 11

1And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.

2And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.

3And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.

4And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

5And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.

6And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

7Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.

8So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

9Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

10These are the generations of Shem: Shem was an hundred years old, and begat Arphaxad two years after the flood:

11And Shem lived after he begat Arphaxad five hundred years, and begat sons and daughters.

12And Arphaxad lived five and thirty years, and begat Salah:

13And Arphaxad lived after he begat Salah four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters.

14And Salah lived thirty years, and begat Eber:

15And Salah lived after he begat Eber four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters.

16And Eber lived four and thirty years, and begat Peleg:

17And Eber lived after he begat Peleg four hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters.

18And Peleg lived thirty years, and begat Reu:

19And Peleg lived after he begat Reu two hundred and nine years, and begat sons and daughters.

20And Reu lived two and thirty years, and begat Serug:

21And Reu lived after he begat Serug two hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters.

22And Serug lived thirty years, and begat Nahor:

23And Serug lived after he begat Nahor two hundred years, and begat sons and daughters.

24And Nahor lived nine and twenty years, and begat Terah:

25And Nahor lived after he begat Terah an hundred and nineteen years, and begat sons and daughters.

26And Terah lived seventy years, and begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran.

27Now these are the generations of Terah: Terah begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begat Lot.

28And Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees.

29And Abram and Nahor took them wives: the name of Abram’s wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor’s wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah.

30But Sarai was barren; she had no child.

31And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son’s son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram’s wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.

32And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.
