Gen Z: Ezra 8
These are the main peeps in charge, and this is the fam tree of those who rolled up with me from Babylon when King Artaxerxes was on the throne.
From Phinehas' squad; we got Gershom: from Ithamar's crew; Daniel: and from David's line; Hattush.
From Shechaniah's fam, Zechariah is the dude; and they counted 150 guys, no cap.
From Pahath–moab; Elihoenai, son of Zerahiah, and he had 200 dudes with him, lit.
From Shechaniah; Jahaziel's son, and he brought along 300 guys, straight up.
And from Adin; Ebed, son of Jonathan, and he had 50 guys rollin' with him.
From Elam; Jeshaiah, son of Athaliah, and he had 70 guys in tow, fr.
From Shephatiah; Zebadiah, son of Michael, and he brought 80 guys, periodt.
From Joab; Obadiah, son of Jehiel, and he had 218 dudes with him, no lie.
And from Shelomith; Josiphiah's son, and he rolled with 160 guys, goated.
Yo, we got Bebai's crew; Zechariah, Bebai's kid, rollin' with twenty-eight dudes.
Then there's Azgad's fam; Johanan, Hakkatan's son, chillin' with a hundred and ten guys.
Last squad from Adonikam, names drop like this: Eliphelet, Jeiel, and Shemaiah, rollin' with sixty homies.
Bigvai's peeps too; Uthai and Zabbud, and they got seventy guys in tow.
I pulled the squad to the river by Ahava; we camped for three days, scoped out the vibes, and no Levi fam showed up, fr.
So I hit up Eliezer, Ariel, Shemaiah, Elnathan, Jarib, Nathan, Zechariah, and Meshullam, the big dogs; also called for Joiarib and Elnathan, the smart ones.
I sent them with the 411 to Iddo, the chief at Casiphia, told them what to say to him and the Nethinims, to bring us some peeps for God's house.
And thanks to our God's good vibes, they brought us a wise dude, Mahli's son from Levi, Sherebiah, with his crew of eighteen.
Hashabiah showed up with Jeshaiah from Merari, his bros and their kids, twenty strong.
Plus, the Nethinims, whom David and the princes set up for Levite service, two hundred and twenty of them: all named, no cap.
So I called for a fast at the river Ahava, like, we gotta vibe with God and figure out the best way for us and our fam, no cap.
I felt kinda sus asking the king for soldiers to back us up against the haters, 'cause we told him God’s got our back if we seek Him; but His power's savage against those who ghost Him.
We fasted and hit up God for help, and He totally came through for us.
I picked out twelve of the top priests, Sherebiah, Hashabiah, and ten of their homies with them, periodt.
I weighed out the silver, gold, and the stuff we were offering to God, which the king and his crew, plus all of Israel there, had given.
I even counted out six hundred and fifty talents of silver, plus a hundred talents of silver vessels and a hundred talents of gold; that’s lit.
Plus, twenty gold basons, a thousand drams each, and two vessels of fine copper that are just as precious as gold, fr.
I told them, “Y’all are holy for the Lord; the stuff is holy too; and the silver and gold are a freewill offering to the Lord God of your ancestors.”
Keep your eyes peeled and guard them until you weigh them before the head priests, Levites, and the top dads of Israel in Jerusalem, at the Lord's house.
So the priests and Levites took the weight of the silver, gold, and vessels to bring them to Jerusalem, to the house of our God.
We dipped from the river of Ahava on the twelfth day of the first month, headed to Jerusalem, and God's hand was on us, keeping us safe from the sus vibes along the way.
We pulled up to Jerusalem and chilled there for three days.
On the fourth day, they weighed the silver, gold, and stuff in God's house, with Meremoth, Uriah's son, handling it; Eleazar, Phinehas' son, was there too, along with Jozabad, Jeshua's son, and Noadiah, Binnui's son, the Levites.
Every item was counted and weighed, and they wrote it all down, fr.
The kids of those who got taken away brought burnt offerings to the God of Israel: twelve bulls for all Israel, ninety-six rams, seventy-seven lambs, and twelve goats for sin offerings—this was all a lit burnt offering for the Lord.
They handed over the king's orders to the king's crew and governors by the river, making sure the people and God's house were all good.
