Gen Z: Ezra 3
When the seventh month hit, the fam of Israel pulled up in the cities, all vibing together as one squad in Jerusalem.
Jeshua, son of Jozadak, and his priest crew, plus Zerubbabel, son of Shealtiel, were like, “Let’s build an altar for the God of Israel to offer burnt offerings, just like Moses said, no cap.”
They set the altar on its bases, feeling a bit sus because of the locals, and they offered burnt offerings to the Lord, morning and night, keeping it lit.
They celebrated the feast of tabernacles, just as it was written, and offered daily burnt offerings, keeping it on point according to the tradition.
After that, they kept the burnt offerings going for the new moons and all the set feasts, plus anyone who wanted to pop off with a freewill offering to the Lord.
From day one of the seventh month, they started offering burnt offerings to the Lord, but the temple foundation wasn’t laid yet, fr.
They also sent cash to the builders and carpenters, plus food, drinks, and oil to the peeps from Zidon and Tyre, to grab cedar trees from Lebanon for the sea of Joppa, just like Cyrus, king of Persia, said.
In the second year of their arrival at God’s house in Jerusalem, Zerubbabel and Jeshua, along with the remnant of their squad, got the Levites, twenty and up, to kick off the work on the Lord’s house.
Jeshua and his sons, along with Kadmiel and the Judah crew, stood together to get the workers moving in God’s house: the sons of Henadad and their crew.
When the builders laid the temple foundation, they dressed the priests in their gear with trumpets, and the Levites, sons of Asaph, had cymbals to praise the Lord, just like David did it.
They all sang together, giving thanks to the Lord because He’s good, and His mercy is forever lit towards Israel. The crowd went wild with a huge shout when they praised the Lord, 'cause the temple foundation was laid.
But many of the priests, Levites, and old heads who saw the first house were weeping loud when they saw the new foundation laid, while others were shouting for joy.
The noise was so wild that you couldn’t tell the joy from the weeping; the people were shouting so loud, it was heard from far away.
