Gen Z: Deuteronomy 6
Ayo, these are the rules, the vibes, and the calls from the Lord, so you can flex them in the land you’re about to claim:
You gotta respect the Lord your God, keep all His rules and commands, for you and your fam, so your days can be lit and long.
Listen up, Israel! Do what’s right so you can vibe well and pop off, just like the Lord promised in that land flowing with milk and honey.
Yo, Israel: Our God is one, straight up.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and energy, no cap.
Keep these words I’m dropping today close to your heart, fr.
Teach these to your kids, talk about them when you chill at home, when you’re on the go, when you crash at night, and when you wake up.
Tie them on your hands as a sign and keep them front and center in your vision.
Write them on your doorposts and gates, make it known.
When the Lord brings you into the land He promised your ancestors, with dope cities you didn’t build, that’s a major flex.
And houses filled with all the good stuff you didn’t even fill, wells you didn’t dig, vineyards and olive trees you didn’t plant; enjoy it all when you’re full.
But don’t forget the Lord who brought you outta Egypt, from that place of struggle.
Respect the Lord your God, serve Him, and swear by His name, that’s the move.
Don’t chase after other gods, the ones around you; that’s sus.
(The Lord your God is a jealous God) or else His anger might get lit against you, and you’ll be outta here.
Don’t test the Lord your God like you did back in Massah, that’s not it.
Keep the Lord’s commands, His testimonies, and statutes like your life depends on it, ‘cause it kinda does.
Do what’s right in the Lord’s eyes so you can vibe well and take the good land He promised your fam.
He’s got your back to kick out all your enemies, just like He said.
When your kid asks what these testimonies and rules mean, spill the tea.
Tell your kid, “We were slaves in Egypt, and the Lord flexed on us and brought us out with power.”
The Lord showed mad signs and wonders in Egypt, on Pharaoh, and his whole crew, right in front of us.
He brought us out so He could bring us in and give us the land He promised our ancestors.
The Lord told us to keep these rules, respect Him, for our own good, so we stay alive, just like today.
If we keep all these commands before the Lord our God as He told us, that’s our righteousness, periodt.
