Gen Z: Deuteronomy 32
Yo heavens, listen up, I’m about to drop some knowledge; earth, you better catch these words I’m spitting.
My teachings gonna hit like rain, my words are gonna flow like dew, fresh vibes on the green grass.
I’m repping the name of the Lord: gotta give major props to our God, he’s straight fire.
He’s the Rock, all his moves are lit: every path he takes is on point; he’s truth, no cap, just and right.
They’ve messed themselves up, not acting like his kids: they’re a wild and twisted generation, fr.
You really gonna play the Lord like that, you silly peeps? Isn’t he your dad who bought you? Didn’t he create you and set you up?
Don’t forget the old days, think about all the years that went down: ask your pops, he’ll drop some wisdom; your elders got the tea.
When the Most High split up the nations, and set boundaries for the fam of Adam, he did it based on the kids of Israel.
The Lord’s squad is his people; Jacob’s the chosen one in his crew.
He found him in a wild desert, in the crazy wilderness; he guided him, schooled him, kept him close like his favorite.
Like, an eagle's out here fluffing up her nest, swooping over her chicks, spreading her wings, and carrying them like a boss.
So the Lord was the only one guiding him, no cap, no other gods around.
He had him riding high on the best spots, getting all the good vibes from the fields; even sipping honey from the rocks, and oil from the hard stones.
Butter from cows, milk from sheep, with the good stuff from lambs and Bashan rams, and goats, plus the best wheat kidneys; and you were sipping that sweet grape juice.
But Jeshurun got all fat and comfy: you got thick, feeling yourself, then you ghosted the God who made you and dissed the Rock of your salvation.
They made him jealous with sus gods, and their wild stuff made him mad.
They were out here sacrificing to demons, not to God; to gods they didn’t even know, new gods that popped up, that your fam didn’t fear.
You forgot the Rock that gave you life, and ditched the God who formed you.
And when the Lord peeped this, he was not having it, 'cause of how his sons and daughters were acting.
And he said, “I’m gonna hide my face from them and see how this plays out: they’re a straight-up wild generation, kids with zero faith.”
They got me feeling some type of way with their fake gods; they made me mad with their vibes, so I’m gonna make them jealous with a crew that’s not even a squad; I’ll provoke them with a total cringe nation.
For my anger’s lit like a fire, burning all the way down to the depths, consuming the whole earth and setting the mountains on fire, no cap.
I’m about to drop some chaos on them; my arrows are ready to pop off.
They gonna be hungry and burnt up, feeling that heat, and facing some savage destruction; I’ll also send the wild beasts at them, with the venom of snakes in the dirt.
The sword’s out there, and fear’s in here, taking out the young and the old, no one’s safe, periodt.
I was gonna scatter them everywhere, make sure no one even remembers them, fr.
But I was lowkey scared of the enemy’s wrath, 'cause they might flex and say, “Our crew did this, and God had nothing to do with it.”
They’re just a nation with zero brains, and no understanding, sus.
If only they were wise and got the bigger picture, and thought about where they’re headed!
How can one person chase a thousand, or two put ten thousand on the run, unless their Rock sold them out, and the Lord locked them down?
Their rock ain't our rock, even the haters know what's up.
Their vine's from Sodom, fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are straight trash, bitter vibes.
Their wine's like dragon poison, cruel venom, no cap.
This is all stored up with me, sealed in my treasure chest, fr.
Vengeance is mine, and trust, they’re gonna slip up soon: their bad days are coming in hot.
The Lord's gonna judge his crew, and he’ll feel for his peeps when they’re powerless, no one left to save them.
He’ll be like, "Where are their gods, their rock they were vibing with?"
Those gods that feasted on their sacrifices and drank their offerings? Let 'em step up and protect you, periodt.
Check it, I am he, no other god with me: I take lives, I give life; I hurt, I heal: no one can escape my grip.
I’m raising my hand to heaven, saying I live forever, no doubt.
If I whip out my shiny sword, and grab that judgment vibe; I’m coming for my haters, no cap.
I’m gonna make my arrows lit with blood, and my sword’s gonna feast; that’s how we roll with the revenge on the enemy.
Yo, nations, vibe with his crew: he’s gonna avenge his peeps’ blood, throw shade at his foes, and show mercy to his land and people.
Moses pulled up and dropped this whole song in the ears of the squad, he and Hoshea, son of Nun.
Moses wrapped up his speech to all Israel, periodt.
He told them, “Focus up on all these words I’m sharing today, and make sure your kids know to keep it real with this law.”
This ain’t just some random talk; it’s your whole vibe: stick to this, and you’ll live long in the land you’re about to own after crossing Jordan.
And the Lord hit up Moses that same day, saying,
Climb up this mountain Abarim, to Mount Nebo, in Moab, looking over Jericho; peep the land of Canaan I’m giving to the Israelites.
And you’ll pass away on that mountain you’re going up, gathered to your people; just like Aaron your bro did on Mount Hor, gathered to his crew.
Y’all messed up in front of the squad at Meribah-Kadesh, in the wild vibes of Zin; you didn’t show me respect with the crew.
But you’ll peep the land from a distance; you just can’t step foot in the place I’m giving to the squad.
