2 Thessalonians 3

Gen Z: 2 Thessalonians 3

1Yo fam, pray for us so the Lord's word can pop off and get all the glory, just like it does with you.

2And we need to be saved from those sus and wicked peeps, 'cause not everyone’s got that faith vibe.

3But the Lord's got our back, keeping us solid and away from all that evil.

4We trust the Lord about you, that you’ll do and keep doing all the stuff we asked you to.

5And may the Lord guide your hearts into that love for God and the chill patience while we wait for Christ.

6Now we’re telling you, fam, in the name of our Lord Jesus, to stay away from any bro who's acting all outta pocket, not following the tradition we gave you.

7You know how to roll with us; we didn’t act sus around you.

8We didn’t mooch off anyone's food for free; we hustled day and night so we wouldn't owe you anything.

9Not 'cause we couldn't, but to show you how to vibe with us.

10Even when we were with you, we said, "If you don't work, you don't eat," periodt.

11We’ve heard some of you are being all lazy, not working, just being busybodies.

12So we’re telling those peeps, in the name of our Lord Jesus, to chill and work quietly, and enjoy their own food.

13But you, fam, don’t get tired of doing good stuff.

14And if anyone's not down with what we said in this letter, mark them and don’t hang with them, so they feel that shame.

15But don’t treat them like an enemy, just give them a nudge like a brother.

16Now may the Lord of peace give you that peace always in every way. The Lord's with you all.

17This is Paul’s shoutout, written by my own hand as a sign in every letter: so I’m writing.

18May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. This second letter to the Thessalonians was written from Athens.

KJV: 2 Thessalonians 3

1Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:

2And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.

3But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.

4And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.

5And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.

6Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.

7For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;

8Neither did we eat any man’s bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:

9Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.

10For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

11For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.

12Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.

13But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.

14And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.

15Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

16Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.

17The salutation of Paul with mine own hand, which is the token in every epistle: so I write.

18The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. The second epistle to the Thessalonians was written from Athens.
