Gen Z: 2 Kings 3
Jehoram, Ahab's kid, starts ruling Israel in Samaria when Jehoshaphat's king of Judah, and he’s on the throne for twelve years.
He was lowkey evil, but not like his fam; he ditched the Baal statue his dad made.
But he still vibed with the sins of Jeroboam, so Israel kept trippin’ on that.
Mesha, the king of Moab, was a sheep boss and gave the king of Israel a hundred thousand lambs and rams, with mad wool.
Then Ahab kicked the bucket, and the king of Moab was like, “Nah, I’m out,” and rebelled against Israel.
King Jehoram dipped out of Samaria and counted up all of Israel.
He hit up Jehoshaphat, saying, "Moab's acting sus, wanna roll with me to battle?" Jehoshaphat was like, "Bet, I’m down. We’re tight, my crew’s your crew."
Jehoram asked, "Which way we rolling?" and Jehoshaphat said, "Let’s go through the wilderness of Edom."
So the kings of Israel, Judah, and Edom rolled out together, but after seven days, they were out of water for the squad and their livestock.
And the king of Israel was like, "Fr, the Lord brought these three kings together just to hand us over to Moab?"
But Jehoshaphat was like, "Ain't there a prophet in the house? We need to vibe with the Lord." One of the king of Israel's crew said, "Yo, there's Elisha, Shaphat's son, who used to pour water on Elijah's hands."
Jehoshaphat was all, "The word of the Lord is lit with him." So the king of Israel, Jehoshaphat, and the king of Edom rolled down to him.
Elisha was like, "What’s good, king of Israel? Go hit up your fam's prophets." But the king was like, "Nah, the Lord brought these three kings together to hand them over to Moab."
Elisha said, "As the Lord of hosts lives, I’m only looking at you because Jehoshaphat's here, otherwise you’d be sus to me."
But he was like, "Yo, bring me a musician." And when the music popped off, the hand of the Lord hit him.
He said, "The Lord’s got a message: fill this valley with ditches."
'Cause the Lord said, "You won’t see wind or rain, but this valley's gonna be filled with water for you, your cattle, and your crew."
And this is a light flex for the Lord: He'll also hand over the Moabites to you.
You’ll take down every fortified city, every choice spot, chop down all the good trees, block all the wells, and mess up the land with stones.
And in the morning, when the meat offering dropped, water showed up from Edom, and the whole place was flooded.
When all the Moabites heard the kings were rolling up to fight, they gathered everyone who could throw on some armor and stood ready at the border.
They woke up mad early, and the sun was shining on the water, making it look all red like blood on the other side.
They were like, "This is blood! The kings must've gone savage and taken each other out. Moab, let's get that loot!"
When they hit the Israelite camp, the Israelites popped off and took down the Moabites, making them bounce outta there, but they kept smiting them even in their own land.
They wrecked the cities, threw stones on every good piece of land, filled it up, stopped up all the wells, and cut down all the good trees; only in Kir-haraseth did they leave the stones, but the slingers circled it and took it down.
When the king of Moab saw the battle was too lit for him, he took 700 sword-wielding homies to break through to the king of Edom, but no cap, they couldn’t make it.
Then he took his oldest son, the one who was supposed to take over, and offered him as a burnt sacrifice on the wall. There was major drama against Israel, and they dipped back to their own land.
