Gen Z: 2 Chronicles 10
Rehoboam pulled up to Shechem 'cause all of Israel was there to crown him king.
So, Jeroboam, the dude who dipped to Egypt from Solomon, heard the news and was like, "Time to bounce back."
They hit him up, and Jeroboam and the squad from Israel came through to Rehoboam, saying,
"Your pops made life rough for us; chill out on the heavy vibes, and we’ll roll with you."
He was like, "Bet, come back in three days." Then the crew dipped.
King Rehoboam got advice from the OGs who kicked it with Solomon, asking, "What’s the move for these people?"
They told him, "If you’re nice to them and keep it real, they’ll vibe with you forever."
But he ghosted their advice and hit up the young homies who grew up with him.
He asked them, "What’s your take on how to respond to the people who said, 'Lighten our load'?"
The young bucks were like, "Tell them your little finger is thicker than your dad's whole vibe."
"My dad put a heavy load on you, but I'm about to crank it up: he used whips, but I’m coming at you with scorpions."
So Jeroboam and the crew rolled up to Rehoboam on day three, just like the king said.
The king gave them a savage response; he ditched the advice from the OGs,
and said, "My dad made your load heavy, but I'm about to make it even more lit: he used whips, but I’m using scorpions."
The king didn’t listen to the people, ‘cause it was all part of God’s plan, fulfilling what Ahijah told Jeroboam.
When all Israel saw the king was sus, they were like, "What do we even have with David? No inheritance here, everyone to your tents!"
But the kids in Judah still had Rehoboam running the show.
Then Rehoboam sent Hadoram, the tax guy, but the people stoned him, and he was done for. Rehoboam had to dip to his chariot and bounce to Jerusalem.
And Israel was like, "Nah," and rebelled against the house of David to this day.
