Gen Z: 1 Chronicles 23
So when David got old and was vibin’ with wisdom, he made his son Solomon the king of Israel.
He gathered all the top dogs of Israel, with the priests and the Levites, no cap.
The Levites were counted from thirty years and up: and they had a total of thirty-eight thousand, fr.
Out of those, twenty-four thousand were on deck to get the Lord's house poppin'; six thousand were the squad of officers and judges.
Plus, four thousand were the porters; and another four thousand were out here praising the Lord with the instruments David made, periodt.
David split them into teams among Levi's sons, like Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
From the Gershonites, there were Laadan and Shimei, no cap.
The sons of Laadan; the main dude was Jehiel, and Zetham, and Joel, three in total.
The sons of Shimei; Shelomith, Haziel, and Haran, three. These were the top guys of Laadan.
And the sons of Shimei were Jahath, Zina, Jeush, and Beriah. These four were the sons of Shimei, lit.
Jahath was the boss, Zizah was the sidekick; but Jeush and Beriah didn’t have many kids, so they were just one squad under their fam.
The squad of Kohath; Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four in total.
The squad of Amram; Aaron and Moses: Aaron was set apart to handle the holy stuff, him and his crew for life, to burn incense for the Lord, serve Him, and bless in His name forever, no cap.
Now talking about Moses, the man of God, his kids were from the Levi tribe, periodt.
The kids of Moses were Gershom and Eliezer, vibing together.
Of Gershom’s crew, Shebuel was the chief, pop off!
And Eliezer’s kids had Rehabiah as the boss. Eliezer had no other kids, but Rehabiah’s squad was super lit.
Of Izhar’s kids; Shelomith was the chief, goated vibes.
Of Hebron’s kids; Jeriah the first, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth, all in the fam.
Of Uzziel’s kids; Michah the first, and Jesiah the second, keeping it real.
The fam of Merari; Mahli and Mushi. Mahli's crew; Eleazar and Kish, no cap.
Eleazar passed away, no sons just daughters: and Kish's squad swooped in for them.
Mushi's squad; Mahli, Eder, and Jeremoth, three in total, vibes.
These were Levi's crew, counted by their fams; the big dogs who did the Lord's work, starting from age twenty and up.
David was like, "The Lord God of Israel gave the squad chill vibes, so they can vibe in Jerusalem forever."
And the Levites? They ain't gotta carry the tent or any gear for the service anymore, periodt.
David's last words had the Levites counted from twenty and up, fr.
Their gig was to back up Aaron's fam for the Lord's house, in the courts, chambers, and all the holy stuff, you feel?
For the showbread, the fine flour for offerings, unleavened cakes, whatever's baked in the pan, or fried, all sizes and measures, lit.
And they gotta stand every morning to thank and praise the Lord, and same at night, no cap.
And they gotta bring all the burnt sacrifices to the Lord on the sabbaths, new moons, and set feasts, just like they were told, no cap.
And they need to handle the tabernacle vibes, the holy place, and the Aaron fam's duties, keeping it lit in the Lord's house.
