Gen Z: 1 Chronicles 10
The Philistines were throwing down with Israel, and the dudes from Israel dipped hard, getting wrecked on Mount Gilboa.
The Philistines chased Saul and his fam, and they took out Jonathan, Abinadab, and Malchi-shua, Saul's sons.
The battle was rough for Saul, and the archers got him, leaving him wounded.
Saul told his armor-bearer, "Yo, stab me with your sword so these uncircumcised don’t clown on me." But the armor-bearer was shook, so Saul just went for it and fell on his own sword.
When the armor-bearer saw Saul was dead, he also fell on his sword and was done for.
So Saul and his three sons, plus his whole crew, all went out together.
When the guys in Israel saw they were bailing and that Saul and his sons were gone, they ditched their cities and bounced; the Philistines rolled in and took over.
The next day, when the Philistines came to loot the fallen, they found Saul and his sons down on Mount Gilboa.
After stripping him, they took his head and armor, sending it all around Philistine land to show off to their idols and the people.
They put his armor in their god's crib and hung his head in Dagon's temple.
When all of Jabesh-gilead heard what the Philistines did to Saul,
The brave homies rose up, took Saul and his sons' bodies, and brought them to Jabesh, buried their bones under the oak, and fasted for a week.
Saul bit the dust for his mess-ups against the Lord, not keeping the Lord's word, and for hitting up a medium for advice;
He didn’t ask the Lord, so the Lord took him out and gave the kingdom to David, Jesse's son.
